@lig1 I don't use Adobe's reader. It's Photoshop (please do not suggest GIMP, it doesn't do what I need), and Captivate, which our client needs us to use.
-
@lig1 Are you serious? Assuming you are: www.adobe.com. We need to use some of their products for work, and there are no suitable non-Windows alternatives.
-
If you could arrange for Adobe to port their software to Linux I could dump the piece of s.h.i.t once and for all! Thank you in advance :) (Wine not an option, btw, doesn't play nicely.)
-
Mine did this for a few days so I tried 'update and restart' instead. Turned out it wanted to install Windows 10 anniversary update. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry ...
-
@tahnik Only once you have the anniversary update, unfortunately!
-
@tahnik I'm guessing you're not a Windows user? You can't disable them (unless you have the Enterprise edition). It's been a huge issue and in the news quite a lot, surprised you haven't heard about it!
-
It's installing the anniversary update. Good luck!
-
Stretching! Yes, that's something else we do (when we can tear ourselves away from the monitor!).
-
Act now before you do any damage. I got a wrist doughnut when mine started to get sore; made a world of difference and no problems since.
-
They missed one: Mx :-)
-
I guess she really doesn't "know one end of the soldering iron from the other"!
-
I wouldn't showcase my desk; it always looks like a bomb exploded on it!
-
Yikes! I think that voids the warranty ...
-
Mornings are better for me too, unless I'm having a night of insomnia, in which case the period from 3am until dawn is very productive!
-
@epse Maybe, maybe not. They did use "asshole" instead of "arsehole" :)
-
Don't have that problem. Chances are we're both on devRant!
-
A common affliction of management in general!
-
@kargaroth Regardless of content, we shouldn't need to code like it's 1999!
-
Heretic!
-
@orijin No, not using PGP or anything like that. He was saying he couldn't get ANY email!
-
Pen and paper, then HTML. For me anyway!
-
Both here too. Unless you're part of a big team, I don't think you can be either one or the other.
-
@drRoss It's a multitude of little things, some usability-related, some not. For instance, quick-access is a nice idea, but it's integrated into search and doesn't consider you might want to know where the file is rather than simply open it (I've disabled it now). Part of it is not having the time to sit down and find workarounds, which I'll do when I reinstall (which I hope will resolve the twitchy element too!). Don't think it helps that I've had two twitchy Windows 10 machines in a row!
-
@drRoss I think there is an element of it being cool to dislike it. I find it very twitchy, and some things MS do which they think make things easier, actually make it harder. Need to do a reinstall soon so I'll attempt to make it behave better then. I really wanted to like Windows 10, but at the moment it's just driving me nuts!
-
@tisaconundrum Argh! Ear-worm!
-
@drRoss Wahey! My first Windows-lover :) Why does Windows make you happy?
-
The solution with added wince-factor!
-
Nooooo! Don't leave! You've only just arrived! :)
-
I'm yet to find someone who loves it.
-
@Tcottle How are you still alive? Or am I talking to a zombie? :)
