Shameless self-promotion.
-
@devux-bookmark Wow. You'd think they'd be on the same page. Provided they were working on the same project.
-
@retoor Well... took a while but I've found it. You open a page of a repository, tap the 3 vertical dots thing in top-right corner, select 'Share', then finally one of the options w/ which you're presented is the option to copy the link to repo.
...yes, does seem convoluted. On a phone, my expectation was to long-press the repository's title.

Video proof or never happened.

@retoor Will check once I've slept, since I don't have the Github app on my phone.

The same way I spend it every other time - relaxing... but also making pancakes... It's been a while since I've eaten them last. Toppings include maple syrup, cheesecake filling, poppy seed filling, marmalade.
Depends on the 'thing'. Usually time. I spend enough time away from that thing, the motivation appears. -
Ah, yes. I C...

Well, I do expect to be dead by 2050... but then again that's my expectation for each year.
Chuffed to bits that devRant is performant once more, though. -
I also hate this trend. Mouse over does reveal the date: 2025-09-10 09:18 PM GMT + 2, though.
-
@BordedDev Seems highly likely.
-
Metal for me. The heavier, the darker, the better. Found this cool Russian band, recently called 'Slaughter To Prevail'.

Hmm... failed 200 returns 200? Creator of that one must've been a fan: https://commitstrip.com/en/2018/... .

Well... practices aside, I'd say it depends on the fun && challenges of the projects. -
Idiots w/ confidence do seem to be the worst kind.
-
Never really liked Confluence... I cringe every time I see experience w/ it being mentioned as a requirement / a plus in job postings.
-
@BordedDev You could add a barely known acronym 'NMI', too.
/* Need More Information. */ -
@Lensflare I'd approve of that. This shit is malicious. At best it just takes up space, but then there are the insidious types leading you to some shady sites && whatnot. Definitely deserving of some punishment.
Kind of a tradeoff of the tech becoming more accessible. It's nice that it's easier to use, cheaper, etc, but at the same time more scum are joining. W/ the LLMs, the barely skilled ones have better tools for their nefarious schemes, too. -
@BordedDev Yeah. In gaming it started w/ the whole digital releases thing. Used to be the case that w/ physical releases, you had to make sure the product was as bug-free as humanly possible, else the recall would bite you in the ass.
But then, the digital releases w/ patches came by. Now, we have the approach of "let's release it as is, we'll patch it later" mentality... && thus we have things like day 1 patches of 100 GBs... -
> 'Every junior deserves a stern, dedicated mentor, a thick affectionate whip on their back to correct their juniorly mistakes and all the support they deserve to grow into the merciless professionals'.
Precisely. WTF is w/ this coddling they're doing nowadays? -
...speaking of commit messages:
https://commitstrip.com/en/2017/... . -
Oh wow... I have one seen something similar. A tester had been reporting issues w/ solely the 'Bug Title' field filled in. Just a one-liner to tell people what the issue is about. No Description, no Steps To Reproduce. Just wow...
Anyway, I certainly don't envy you. -
@AlgoRythm Well... _By default_ it does require those. But yes - there are workarounds. I went the modded ISO via Rufus route.
-
Yeah... spam bots adding comments to old rants. I can't be the only one wishing we had at least _some_ moderation here.
-
@BordedDev Wow. Haven't seen this comic, yet.
-
@BordedDev IIRC it also allows you to display a form so people can fill it in, providing more info. But that should probably depend on the implementation. But otherwise I remember it being used for crash reporting && whatnot.
-
Yup. The things about which some people complain do perplex me, as well. As in there are real problems... && there are imaginary ones people create when they have too good, so they need to come up w/ things to bitch about.
-
Well... the VM requires those most likely since the Win11 itself has those requirements... Can't say those _requirements_ are reasonable, though. Those should be, as at least most of them have been, optional, up to the user to decide.
Speaking of HDDs && data recovery, though, I've had the exact same experience. If a disaster strikes data recovery is fairly easy. W/ an encrypted drive, you're most likely doomed... unless you happen to have the encryption key, but chances are most users can't be bothered to back that up, so...
return doomed; -
@BordedDev Yeah. Those fun ones include high-pitched noise when the game crashes && the settings being seemingly turned off, then some sound just blasts through the speakers because it wasn't included in some list && wouldn't abide by the settings.
-
@BordedDev It's good knowing where you taxes go, isn't it?
