With SSDs, you should be able to check their health using programs such as CrystalDiskInfo or something similar.

SD Cards && flash drives, on the other hand, just die w/o warning.

AFAIR they switch to read-only state just before dying, so you can still recover the data, but still.

Thing is, certification-wise, there are rules against such practices because this unnecessarily ages the hardware.

I've connected a 256 GB SSD to it via an SSD <-> USB adapter && am dual booting.

Windows 10 is on the device by default, but Linux Manjaro is on the SSD.

I needed a portable MS Office, so this works well for me.

Thing is, the storage in mine is only 64 GB && AppData\Local\Temp is not the only sinkhole for storage.

Anyway, performance-wise, clearing the AppData\Local\Temp is a good tip / reminder.

I do actually need to clear that one, too, as the device has been a bit slower, recently.

WinDirStat has helped me quite a few times to track down some space hogging directories.

The number 2 has been a pain for me for years on my Windows machines...

Turned out that a GFX artist was in need of one && seeing an 'unused' charger on my desk, he simply took it.

Some people have problems understanding that if something is not theirs, they can't just take it && use as they please.

Stuff like that was very common there, unfortunately.

Cables were in high demand, too.

Of course reaching out to IT dept., which was also responsible for stocking up on needed hardware, was too much of a hassle.
