What is your favourite conspiracy theory?

I used to be fascinated by them and what it would mean if they were true. Then in around 2020 December I started finding out that so many were true and connected. When I found out how they were connected I was disgusted and it made me feel ill. This is a way darker side of mankind than ever wanted to believe existed. People I think are inherently afraid to explore that possibility. Because the implications are that society is built up a lie so huge and terrifying that most people couldn't cope. I spent a week in shock when I finally was given some context.

Sometimes I wish I didn't know. But knowing has protected me and my family from some things. You are damned if you know, and damned if you don't know.

My favorite one though is consciousness transfer. Beings so advanced that they create biological bodies for the different environments they wish to enter. They transfer their consciousness to the body for whatever purpose at hand.

Bodies for space travel:

ATV Bodies for planets like earth:

- sasquatch

Bodies for wild orgies:

- your mom

Viral cryogenesis.

The idea that when you're getting cold somehow magically the cold virus forms in your body. It's is unbelievably wide spread. Everyone and their grandma believes in that conspiracy theory.

@TrayKnots have you read about the "source field"? In the absence of any kind of biological components some liquids can manifest organic matter. I don't know if its a bunch of bunk or something real.

The reason I thought about it is because you can supposedly beam different DNA into existing eggs and get a different organism. So it is some kind of information transfer. The other implication is that life is not unique nor rare in the universe.

technically conspiracy theory was coined by the CIA to discredit the JFK assassination theories. conspiracy is people conspiring. so it's not weird science or aliens. it needs to involve a group of people agreeing to do something together

Seeing as abiogenesis is still a big question mark that we could not recreate in any laboratory, I'd say it is bogus. But hey, I have never heard of it.

I like the hollow earth theory. I've heard an interview with a full believer in it and he brought it so convincing, it was great. The rumor has it that some army plane went to the center of the north pole and appearantly it's green there. He flew in there and saw a lot of stuff. He did really stick to that story. But I'm like, center of the north pole, why would you ever be in the neighborhood of it. But UFOs come from the center of the earth 😁 Inspiring huh?

Also, there is a rumor that putin has a video of Donald Trump giving a bj to some other president. Disgusting, shivering from it. Who invented that.

I've been big into conspiracy theories most of my life and the only consistency across all of the huge ones is they turn out to be bullshit if you really look into them.

Pretty much all of flat earth and the moon landing as a hoax can be disproven with grade school science in your own backyard.

Most big government conspiracy theories break down as soon as you look into logistics of how many people and coordination would be required for them to be true. Though if it only requires the CIA to do something shady, then it's probably true.

My favorite is the Phantom Time theory that says a Holy Roman Emperor and a Pope conspired to fake a couple hundred years of the middle ages, including all of Charlemagne's reign, so that they could reign over the year 1000.

While most CTs fall apart quickly when you dig, what's neat about this one is how it more and more plausible when you start digging below the surface and you have to dig pretty deep before the cracks start showing up.

My favourite conspiracy theory is that everything is exactly as it seems: JFK was really shot by a lone gunman, the twin towers burned down due to jet fuel and Israel is really an innocent bastion of democracy.

@antigermgerm I can't remember how it goes. Think about the worst the thing the government could do, and you will find it is worse than that of what they are actually doing.

You can't ignore things like Ruby Ridge or Waco. Ruby Ridge they shot a woman holding a baby in her arms. At Waco they burned people alive on purpose. They also created people like the Una Bomber. He was experimented on.

A lot of the conspiracy theories are IQ tests. They are so fake and so easily debunked that you have to be sub front end dev level IQ to fall for.

IPv6 is not adopted because IPv4 changes our network to become more tree formed, with mandatory nodes to connect other nodes and little to no way to avoid them...

Strangely consistent with the restructuring proposal from China a few years back...

Don't ask me about the logistics of this conspiracy theory, haven't thought it through...
