@dr-ant I'll try that, thanks for the tip! ;)
-
Rocking a 13" Pro early '15 with High Sierra for a couple of months now, mostly for its screen and battery life.
But boy, 8 gigs of RAM is just not enough for someone like me. -
I'm actually guilty of having done this at one stage of my career :(
-
I prefer using shutdown. Somehow typing "now" gives more pleasure. Like the feeling of an authoritarian.
-
Current job: 2 days.
Previous job? Day one. -
@boom why the hate for Netbeans? :( JetBrains products aren't free like Netbeans, and Atom (or vscode, sublime text, and the like) require quite some time to install plugins to get the experience Netbeans gives you out of the box.
-
Haven't touched development on Windows in ages, but the time I did, I used vagrant (https://www.vagrantup.com). Heck I even use it on my Linux now.
-
@FitzSuperUser umm...
-
try {
riskyText();
} catch (InnapropriateTextError e {
dealWithDamage(65535);
}
That's how you handle bad decisions. -
You're lucky. None of my coworkers know the difference. That means everything that has to do with "computers" gets handed down to our team.
-
@RStrydom Literally, actually. None of his code is well thought out (I'm not exaggerating here). It makes future development a pain in the ass.
-
@azous Yeah, but it's not PHP that's the problem. PHP in the right set of hands can be a joy to work with.
-
@kshitij He is. I breathed a sigh of relief a couple of months ago when he was let go of all development. Although it doesn't really get any better with him being the PM... Fucktard always tries to micromanage the dev team.
-
Try Ctrl+Shift+C on Chrome and Firefox if they haven't blocked it too.
-
You should be featured on the next devRant podcast.
-
@ScribeOfGoD exactly. I forgot.
-
This made my day.
-
@RazorSh4rk What's wrong with Netbeans? It's a decent IDE for various languages, and best of all, it's free.
-
True. You won't go back. Another dev will.
(Just spent a whole working day refactoring a Junior dev's code) -
It's just a matter of taste and flavour...
-
@Drastic whoa where did you get that Github Student Dev Pack sticker? Can't seem to find it anywhere on the store.
-
Trust me, it's not an unpopular one. I'm genuinely looking for an alternative place to proudly stick laptop stickers on. Any ideas?
-
I actually like win7 less than win10 :/
-
Ooohhh I have a co-worker that does this ALL the time. I'd rather listen to fingernails being scratched on a blackboard.
-
XAMPP Apache MariaDB PHP Perl
-
You're all wrong. The most advanced OS is cmd.exe
-
It's there for a reason.
-
I prefer dev_rant.
-
My superiors just don't seem to get this rule. It's a Saturday now and I don't dare leave the house since I was told to be on "standby". F this.
-
I literally just did this a few hours ago....
