1. Survival - Your genetics won't let you die.
2. Procreation/reproduction - your genetics will make you look attractive to opposite sex.

Now looking attractive has changed over time. Dresses have changed over time and society has changed over time.

If you are afraid of malware or authorities... Take a EC2 micro instance on any country far off from yours ... Run any commandline torrent tool like rtorrent to download the file. If it's media file you can try streaming using vlc and file path as ftp. And if you find it okay , SCP it to your local machine and run it like a charm..

@YADU if you will look at your post you are comparing C++ with PHP. pHP is serverside language with a completely different use case to that of c++.
If I have to fasten a code on server I won't go with C++ rather node or golang.

If I have to write a media decoder that uses intel hardware decoder I won't go with PHP but rather C++. Or if I have to programme a microcontroller I will go with C.

For each langauge use cases are well defined.
