@retoor goddamnit ive been bamboozled
-
Leave immediately.To shield your psyche from the bullshit going on at your job, quit in your mind and make your efforts go towards another job. trust me, I have seen some shit aswell, but thought it’ll get better. It didnt . But you probably knew all that already, you just needed confirmation didnt you?

@antigermgerm animations can do a lot for UX if done right in my opinion. What I cant stand is the default border radius of material design. It makes the page look like its trying to look like the nickelodeon logo
-
Getman does the same shit, also for delimiters inside functions, which are also localized, as @lensflare mentioned. Seriously i dont know what demonic curse fuckery put on this for everyone to use this shit
-
Thank you, pictures like these motivate me to rid the world of this filth
-
@rootshell haha you wish. Fuck frontend man, why cant i just shove these apes the messagepacks right in their skulls.
Srsly though, touching typescript / anything close to UI feels so frustrating. I worked with angular almost a year, and the same activity rarely had the same output. -
@antigermanist ill try harder next time. Achsually, my first hello world was with 14, with c# even. I sat in front of the blinking cursor not having a clue what to do until i found the name pf the programming language to google. And this is where we entered the dead harambe timeline
-
@retoor tea i read something about data types staying in memory forever, if in this context immortalized means the same thing. Distributed systems fucked my head enough, my psyche wont handle going quantum after astronomy
-
Huh? Theyre only looking for young people? Everywhere I look the positions are senior Java / C# Engineers with 10 years on the belt.
-
@retoor like it wasnt difficult to finish a side project before, with pydantic youre debugging the most worthless validation error shit. I do like fastapi, but not supporting msgspec as models and the functional shenanigans make me consider consider something else entirely as the feamework
-
@retoor thanks for reminding me to upgrade python. Whats the state of the freethreading build?
-
Did someone notice?
-
Thank you for your service. Would've left a huge dump right on the seat as well. #gateslessgates

@AvatarOfKaine over my corpse!!
-
How this cancer of an app just BEGS to infest your phone. Bah
-
Additionally, to prove to yourself that your tests cover as many cases as possible you can use mathematical induction . Take an object n, prove that n=k, then prove that n+1=k. Then there would be stress testing i guess, of which the implementation depe ds on your architecture. Postman offers something real nice for that, whwre you can let 10,100,1000 emulated users run a train on your endpoints concurrently

Anything apart from integration should be tested with so called “mocks”. Classes which mimick behaviour of the real dependency. I’d be surprised if your language doesnt have a package which does exactly that. One thing my father, a herald of the golden age of software engineering,said was that databases are actually third party dependencies, which the vendor is responsible to test by themselves. What matters is whether what you wrote gets out in the expected format, and whether your application can deal with data returned from the database in the right format, and the wrong format. This gave me buddha level enlightenment

@retoor tbf tho ChatGPT itself seemed to output better stuff the last few days. That or my proomps became better, cant tell
-
@BordedDev 3 a day? Why ?
-
Yea some AI stuff is such a joke
-
My incompetent manager from last job said we’re agile because we do a daily standup now. Bro was that nerve wracking
-
Goddamnit i thought you responded to me sorry mate hahaha
-
@12bitfloat ¿que hablai conche tu madre?
-
@antigermgerm Some are very racist towards immigrants. And Germans too, they believe we are coming to switzerland to take their money hahaha
-
@jestdotty surely Reddit has nice people as well, i didnt want to generalize. A few very negative experiences do stick for longer than many positive ones though.
-
@SidTheITGuy hahaha okay that was a good one, cheers
-
Ah and i just dint get the design decision behind the Depends( class) in FastAPI. And especially why I can only use INSTANCES of Callable classes, which are basically stateful functions
-
@Lensflare well .NET has quite a rich ecosystem around DI. The problem i had is that nothing seemed to work smoothly with FastAPIs DI system. The closest thing was dependency-injector, but the semantics behind providers and dependencies was way too confusing. And FastAPIs DI system is pretty wonky for classes, nothing felt like the beauty of how its implemented in C# or Angular.
-
@retoor Yea Reddit kinda shot their own knee there. After remembering how grateful i felt for people answering my questions so thoroughly i wanted to give back at least something to a rookie in Python. Usually I scrape it off but sometimes once or twice already i got responses on there which did hurt more than expected. Especially since the toxicity came literally out of nowhere.

@antigermgerm its a reference to an old advertisement of a beer in germany. Did the women not have a french accent there?
