I do like Japanese && generally Asian horrors. They do have some interesting ghost / demon stories.

A movie 'Shutter' immediately comes to mind... the Thai one.

But otherwise, the more common stories are: Kuchisake Onna ( The Slit-mouthed Woman. ), Teke Teke ( A woman split in half by a train. ), Hanako-san ( A child in the 3rd bathroom stall, can't remember the backstory, though. ).
