It used to be the whole keyboard when Force Touch was still a thing. Then Apple decided to switch to stronger glass, which wiped out that feature. Now it’s just the space bar :/

@Grumm all selected states are a solid colour, and are attached to the border of the toggle. Hovering over a row makes the background that blueish colour. I’d assume they simply invert the colour scheme of the toggle to keep it visible.
It is a shit design either way. If there is confusion about the state of a toggle, you can’t expect much of the rest of the product. -
@kiki all settings under ‘other’ are on right?

Seems like they are trying to figure out what a battlefield game is

Congrats! I took down a prod environment last Thursday after 17:00 just before my 3 day weekend.
That’s always fun -
He only sold the hyperloop lie to prevent high speed trains from being built

Install a honeypot

@Lensflare don’t forget to include the OP in the mentions suggestions. That doesn’t seem to work for me.
I just installed your app. Will look around :) -
You can build front ends in rust. See egui for example. (https://www.egui.rs)
Or yew (https://yew.rs).
I get that you’re choosing JavaScript (or Typescript, which is the same thing with some syntactic sugar and a “compiler” which is a transpiler that fails you often) because it’s familiar. But if you’ve got time and feel up for a challenge I would shake it up and opt out of JS.
I want to learn rust in the hope I can one day leave JS behind 🥲 -
@b2plane what limits you to javascript? Existing code bases or annoying managers?
You mention Web3, would a rust app not work in a Web3 world? (I have no knowledge about Web3 lol) -
Use Blazor targeting WebAssembly instead. Or look into Rust targeting WebAssembly.
I’ve never worked with Rust, but it looks amazing.

@black-kite agreed. It’s not only useless, it’s wrong. It pollutes your data, and it’s ethically questionable.
At least register the data. What your consumers do with that data is up to them. Not to mention the pain of potentially updating the api contact to another data type ugh.. -
@iiii like @abiggersplash said, 1.7% of people are intersex. That’s a big enough reason to include it as an option. Leaving it out will alienate a substantial amount of your user base.
Let alone that it might be relevant data since you’re gathering medical data. If it’s not, why bother asking it at all? -
Shouldn’t you be asking for sex instead of gender when it comes to a medical app? I can’t think of a reason why gender would be relevant (correct me if you think I’m wrong).
Sex and gender are not the same, and are both non-binary, so neither just the options man/woman or male/female would be complete. -
Covid!

Nothing if you enjoy yourself :)
Otherwise I’d ask someone up the tree for when you can expect things to change. And also put a deadline on that so you don’t wait for n amount of months while never getting to where you want to be. -
For what purpose? There is an app called Traccar that allows you to track trips to a self hosted store.

I would discard those emails immediately just out of disinterest 🙊

What a dick move
-
@darksideofyay they sure will! All whilst expanding their mark on our planet and making the solution our problem
-
That might even go hand in hand with subsidies (or discounts from hosting providers) to encourage companies to make their software more efficient

Event driven microservices to not waste so much resources

Yet we are often forced to use it as our brush on our canvas
-
I’m not haha

Good on you :)

Please get out of there!
Take a long well deserved break, and spend time on things that matter to you -
I'm in a "medior" position and I on about €2500/mo net. It's a decent income, but it does not match my responsibilities well enough imo (I'm held responsible for a transition to 'the cloud' for our product)

I’m quite good at concealing my emotions
