Thanks everyone for your support, I really appreciate it

You don't need to instal xcode, just the toolkit:
$ xcode-select --install
thank me later -

I don't understand... React Native builds into native software. It's all a wrapper. It's supposed to be a different tech than phonegapshit or appshitlerator.
Xamarin uses mono runtime, which of course has an overhead. But React Native shouldn't...??? -
Any idea how to fix it?, NAT is on
-
where do you buy these domains? What company?
-
You said it yourself. The problem is the spec definition.
Blamming it on TDD is like blaming your CSS framework cause on every spec change you have to change UI. It makes no sense -
Well, I can't vouch for those last scenarios, but the hate is still uncalled for. I mean, 80% posts here are plaily stolen from /r/programmershumor and just a couple are actual rants, but I don't see any hate towards this platform.
What I'm saying is it's not perfect, but the hate you give is just stupid, as it has many, many, many good parts. -
Well, in my experience, if I hadn't got many half-assed questions downvoted, I'd have never learned to write good questions, that have even helped others than me.
It's like having a good mentor. They will point to your flaws and you won't like it, but in the end if you're humble and don't take it personal, you WILL grow. -
bro, I've dotfiles that I've been improving over the course of 2 years. But cool, if your comment diminishing other people work makes you feel better about you, go ahead. Good luck in life.

yeah, just making it clear that's not my post lmao, you can see my downvote in red.
-
@nblackburn It's sarcastic :P
-
I swear xcode is the only shit there.

Also, if possible I'd like to avoid Ubuntu. I used that for a while and the GUI just make me sick (or maybe it has another gui other than the default gnome that i hate so much(?))

I'm experienced with linux, but for servers. Worked with ubuntu, centos and red hat. I'm mostly asking cause I've almost never used it for desktop, so I want one that looks beautiful (or at least can be tweaked to). Seen so many posts of different flavors, that I'm a bit overwhelmed. Want to choose one that looks beautiful, but it's not hipster enough not to have a pacake manager for the dev tools, or hard to install like Arch

this is called "software engineering doesn't need a license, so any iliterate idiot can google 'java for nubz' and end up with this shit"

I don't agree with the UI. As much as I like devRant for the content, idea, community, cofounders, etc... the one thing I don't like is the app itself. Looks like some kind of phonegap thingy, and have absolutely no look-and-feel of neither Android nor iOS. Not to mention it drains battery and doesn't manage state properly, bla bla bla.
I did native mobile development for both phone OS so I'm very picky on this one.
Also Facebook's UI is actually very good. -
is that... nano?
-
What's the theme? I'm having a hard time finding a theme combination for iTerm and Vim that matches.
-
i'm pretty sure this can be code golfed; maybe with bitwise operator
-
Your component is probably too big and has too many responsibilities.

You can work remotely, we work mainly with Bay Area customers in California, so you'll have competent teammates.
Drop me a DM on my twitter, it's in my Bio.
Also, I'm not a recruiter, I actually suck at it; but I like this community so I wanna share the love I have for my job. -
For the ones asking, my company is in fact hiring. Seems like we're looking mainly for Ruby and JS dev.
-
Yah let's write our own shit instead of using a 100% coverage tested library designed by the collective intelligence of the contributors and communtiy feedback. Our O(n²) solution, due to time constraints for _actual_ business logic, should do just fine 👌

how is this shitpost not like a thousand ++s? this is reddit worth... or maybe stolen from there?
-
cause of money.

I am legit sorry for you. Hope you find a better place.
