I'm a huge fan of stock android but it's getting worse and worse now. Stupid fucking bugs everyday that I discover.

Is it me or images are not preloading on devrant? I have them enabled in settings but most images don't load unless I open them. Really annoying. Using android.

Unpopular opinion: atom and vscode are both shit. I hate using them, I don't think they are at all comfortable to use (for me). I prefer sublime and the bindings that it has.

Waking up to another day of being forced to use SVN because my university seems to have a problem with using git. Who the fuck uses SVN now anyway, piece of shit version control.

Not learning web quicker, it's now the most growing thing and there are so many technologies and frameworks and I haven't had enough time to go over them. However, the only problem is some of these frameworks last a little while and die out so it's not all that bad.

Not been to any lectures in the past week. Fuck. I just can't seem to fix my routine and wake up on time for any lectures. How do you guys manage time and get to sleep and wake up on time? My routine is royally fucked.

My feelings towards half the people in my class because most a brain-dead cunts with no aspirations or passion for anything they do.

The amount of times I've had to setup Linux distros because I can't stick to one. I've just ended up writing a script that will set up all my softwares etc now because it's that tedious to remember what I use.

When you are trying to write event handlers in JavaScript and nothing is working so you spend hours and hours trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong with your js code only for it to be a duplicate id. Fuck sake. I really wish JavaScript warned you about duplicate ids, but then again that's what you get for using such a weakly typed language.

Rant::devrant

It seems this website is going in the direction of people asking questions about code or programming concepts. Though I think that we should help people I feel this really isn't the platform for doing so. There are platforms out there which are designed specifically for questions such as StackExchange. And though some of you might have qualms about SO or SE, it's still not a good enough excuse to clutter devrant with questions like those.

I think there should probably be a report option for rants (where we can specify reasons) at this point and probably more moderation required at this point as this platform is growing pretty rapidly.

I like to code as a hobby as well as do it as a day job so it surprises me quite alot when people get all funny about me coding outside of work/uni. It's just funny because half of these brain dead students know nothing about anything other than what they're taught in education. Most students are so fucking stupid nowadays and they don't like to read or research or learn. But I'm the anomaly. Ok guys. Well done, go get pissed; it's the best you can do with your braindead selves.

Snapchat is by far the worst app ever developed. I like the concept but the actual development of the app is fucking garbage. It hurts my head that they haven't given a fuck about usability, optimisation or anything for that matter considering its one of the top social media platforms. It disgusts me, though Instagram has completely ripped off Snapchat in so many ways; they've done a hell of a better job at it and if people weren't so tired to SC I'm sure it would be dead by now.

Slow UI, slow gestures, probably the highest amount of bugs and crashes, shit camera because it thinks it can do a better job than the native API at rendering, painfully slow upload, stupid "featured" stories that you cannot get rid off and slow the fuck out of the app, battery drain even worse than FB, oh and not to forget that once you accidentally enable your location it's impossible to switch it off, the best you can do is hide it from everyone. I can probably go on and on with the endless issues this shit has.

Windows is so fucking stupid. Why do I HAVE to enable "Do nothing" when my lid is closed for it to be able to output to my external display while my lid is closed. Ubuntu can easily recognise that I want to use my external display and will keep my laptop running as long as it has an HDMI to a connected source.

It really fucking pisses me off I have to change my power options everyday. Seriously fuck windows. The only thing keeping me on Windows is Visual Studio, I hope they are able to port VS and the full .NET framework entirely on Linux so this shit OS can just be dead forever.
