I was just browsing devRant after ages today and then I see a newbie post with offensive comments and asking them to giggle instead and then this post asking to chill.
I remember devRant as being such a cool and welcoming community back in 2016-17 sometime and now it looks like stackoverflow is leaking onto here’s.. it’s sad really. -
@Aldar absolutely. My company is pretty much helping us with anything that we require for setting up home workspace. We can expense mostly anything we want which could help us be productive. So that’s the bright side.
Only other good thing that comes out if this is now I can move to places with lower rent or buy house far away from city for lesser cost. 🤷 -
@Aldar yeah it does require a lot of self control I think. I tend to drift away in random stuff at times and spend only half the day working lol
-
@Ranchu lol did that yesterday 😅😅
-
@JhonDoe lol yeah. I had been doing WFH for a company and I got bored of it. I like office space better. And now this happens 😅😅😂😂
But yeah, most tech companies are surely going to follow this path. -
Depends on what kind of home setup you have. Especially living in a condo with your partner and you both WFH 😑🥴
-
@SortOfTested I’m not sure 🤔 mixed feelings.
-
Btw, kimchy is the digital name of the creator of elasticsearch. https://github.com/kimchy

- Googling/Searching is an art. Learning how to “google” a question is the key to start.
- Break down problem into smaller modules and tackle smaller ones to reach answer to entire problem. -
What if the user closes the browser .. his cart is gone even with session.
-
@Ashkin thank you! Didn't know that :)
-
@Revenger I always use Spotify in chrome with Adblock. No ads forever! With the app there will be ads.
-
@allanx2000 didn't think of that one lol
-
@norman70688 yeah but that's not devRant, right? It's about the community 🙂
-
@norman70688 lol yeah filter the shit out of everything. Jk though it's just a preference and I'm not sure how many feel the same way or like to have discussions than the jokes. I used to do the same but now it's getting boring for me and would love to have discussions with fellows devs.
-
That's good. You'll never get bored!
-
@nottoobright I think that's applicable for mostly mobile devices
-
I think It's loading resources on demand. So the page load time is reduced
-
If you tell them you didn't use it and didn't know that you had to unsubscribe they might refund you. It happened to me and I got the refund. Amazon is pretty generous
-
I'm kinda curious to know what the password was? 🙄
-
What if user cancelled the task? That makes sense. It's info dialog.
-
@azuredivay same with air china. The moment they see you on phone anytime during the flight(not just take off or landing) they'll come and ask you to put it away like a school teacher. Like wtf man, I can't even listen music
-
@edisonn lol there are only few of us 😉
-
@nerd-san hahah 😅😅
-
Luckily my spouse is a dev too. So we work on stuff together even during day offs 😂
-
Technically your are just thinking, not writing.
-
I increment you!
-
Yeah I do it in browser too unconsciously and it pops up the save dialog! Arrghhh
-
@willol yeah we don't use it vb anyway
-
@tomabolt try talking to google assistant. Try asking questions like you do to Siri or Cortana. Responses are pretty good just like other AIs
