My girlfriend asked me what was those letters when she saw the code of this website. She actually thought all you had to do to build a system was drag pictures and buttons to the screen...

Hibernate + spring mvc does the job just fine, but I am curious to see what the rest of the community recommends

Depends on how advanced you are, you can always look for video courses. After you have the basics figured out, start a small project with some level of complexity, then just learn on the go, look for tutorials on how to do certain things. Just gotta be careful on the good practices, it is easy forget about them when developing solo. Also, you should read and research about what people are using for Java nowadays, like spring, hibernate, jstl, had, etc

@reesmid Make self explanatory variables names, function names, package names, or pretty much everything you have to name. Because after a week without looking at that code you will come back and be like "wtf does this do? and why the hell did I do it for". If everything has good names, you don't have to read the code too deep to realize what is going on
-
That is gonna be hard to maintain, package f11 and variables that are only one letter long lol

@fuckfuckityfuck Nope

Go to YouTube first, or find a bunch of HTML tutorials, if you inspect the HTML of some fancy ass page and you don't understand the basic, it will just confuse you.

If he has any control over the Internet connection being used, he can just block traffic from the specific website. Otherwise there is nothing much he can do besides jaming the 3g/4g signal and giving people his wifi password with Pokemon blocked

That happens way too often in smaller companies, the owners that haven't out any kind of effort in to learning new stuff or at least being up to date. Just decides not to follow the advice of people who are studying daily and experimenting with every tool on the market, just cuz it seems too complicated to them.

That is what you get for sleeping and waste precious code time!

@Chew55 there is no Ikea in my country. That thing could easily be a bench from this angle!
-
@linux-colonel same here, but every other person that works here sees the issues, but their ideas also get shutdown
-
My case is the bosses, they have everything to make their business great but they refuse to evolve, so they lose clients and we have to work on dumb shit all day
-
Near the right "leg" of that bench or whatever the fuck it is

I know the feeling bro!

Maybe it was a good thing after all

This specific case I can't do, they took the database of this old legacy system they still maintain and made some sort of online consulting for the clients, they have been working on the online version for a year, using ember, flex and sling, now they want apps for it
