How often do you go for an interview? A senior once told me to go for job interviews regularly to know where you stand. WDYT of this advice?

It all started with me attempting the interview at a bank only for exposure sake and I wanted to benchmark myself to see if I can make the cut because I was told their interviews are hard.

Before, I was sure I won't ever work for a bank because as compared to a tech firm, the general consensus think banks are filled with red tape and work mainly revolves around their proprietary platforms/toolings which isolates the engineer from what the real tech companies are using.

But when I see what they are offering me, the money is really swaying me now. I never imagined to be offered this much... What should I do or how should I process this...?

7 sprints to deliver an application from scratch to production for 7 types of user roles, with different work flows. Am I wrong to get pissed when the tech lead wants to implement RBAC only at the last sprint?

"Dear" tech lead... Editing Cloud Function with GCP's online IDE is not equivalent to versioning your code. Use a proper VCS dammit. It's fucking sprint 3 already... Ugh

Sales agreed to client to deliver in 7 sprints. It's the 3rd sprint already and the tech lead is still trying to firm up scope MVP.

When the only way to work, is thru a client's laptop, and the client has to be around to use it... F*CK!

Fellow devsmen who are parents, how do you manage to keep yourself sharp in your craft while managing your family life?

Really need help to upskill as a data engineer. Are there any free sample databases data out there with practice questions to upskill as one? I wanna learn database design, data lake and data warehousing skills... I don't know if I'm asking the right questions but if I'm not making sense, please help me out!
