Simple - use rem. Assume the browser default that 1rem = 16px, from there on you can just convert units as you go along.

Ah, yes, because expecting 100vh to be equal to the actual height of the viewport is a "hack that's no good". 🤣 -
Man, Jeff Bezos has really gone off his rocker since Musk overtook him as the richest person in the World, hasn't he?

> "taking 600MB ram"
This isn't the 90s anymore, you know? The average PC packs quite a lot of ram. 600mb ram is nothing in 2021 (it's literally 1.8% of the ram on any of my machines).
However, I will agree that Electron apps are crap and lazy. -

Simple. Don't believe the "rockstar developer" bullshit and don't overwork yourself. Your life shouldn't just be coding non-stop, otherwise you'd burn out (I'm speaking from experience).
Have side projects on occasion if you'd like (not all the time), try not to work overtime, and spend as much time AFK as you can. -
@Alice I still can't use FF on my MBP, it leaks memory on macOS, so it ends up hogging more ram and battery than any other browser...
-
@SteffTek You haven't checked the memory usage of FF Quantum, have you? It's the same damn thing - everything uses a lot of ram nowadays.
Also, typically, if you're using a reset/normalize stylesheet of some sort you'll get uniform results on all evergreen browsers. Things are not like they were a decade ago, don't exaggerate to excuse your faults. -
Can't survive without both. All flavors of metal and my QC35s

Lots of white knighting around here. How is it against the rules to point out when something is out of place?
Since we're on the same topic, saying "I hate x, y, z people because they're rude, racist, sexist, etc." is literally the pot calling the kettle. Stop being offended on other people's behalf.
I thought this was a dev community, where we discuss dev stuff, not silly stuff like this. I don't care what you believe in, I care who you are as a person. That's how it should be always. -
Keep your religion and political views to yourself. Believe in whatever you like in private. We don't need that kind of stuff here on DevRant. Also, your post is textbook passive aggressiveness, but whatever rocks your boat

Looks rather uncomfortable.

Literal cancer itself.

Or origin whitelisting...fuck these two things in particular. Using 3rd party stuff, etc. is a nightmare

I'm all for functional programming. I apply it in my daily JS/TS work. What I'm not for is hard to read syntax. Since when did it become machine-readable code is more important than human-readable? Also, a lot of the languages you praise promote anti-DRY patterns. Writing like it's the 70s = the future...smh
