! a Rant
Dear fellow devRanters!
I have an announcement to make. After we shared Programmer’s Music (www.programmersmusic.com) on devRant, we had so many awesome user started using our service and they still do. We love you all for that and thank you for you continuous support and use.
Now that our team has become more focused and productive, we took upon a new problem to tackle a few months back. The problem we chose is about increasing email productivity and ability to comprehend knowledge hidden in emails in a more effective way. We are excited to introduce ‘Altmail’! (https://www.altmail.in)
We believe that there’s a hidden treasure in your inbox waiting to be explored. All those newsletters and blog updates, all those deals, all those Medium digests and LinkedIn alerts, contain keys to becoming a better version of yourself. So we have made it Altmail’s mission to help you spend less time organising and more time acquiring knowledge. Altmail transforms your cluttered inbox into the source of knowledge, automagically.
We are currently in private beta and have limited invites left, to be specific 33 out of 100. Please check it out here - http://at.altmail.in/devRant!
We are looking forward to your honest feedback! :)
Thanks a ton!
Cheers!20 -
This is not a rant, but I just wanted to share some good news! My brother and I have launched an app called Programmer’s Music. It contains our favourite music tracks and tracks suggested by some of our developer/creative colleagues. It’s for listening to music while coding. We have also integrated Pomodoro time management method in it. It’s ad-free and FREE. :) Please check out the app at https://promusic.tech/2mJrw8A. Feel free to leave an honest feedback.
Please feel free to leave us a message with your favourite tracks and we will add them. Please share it, follow on Twitter and/or like our Facebook page. Thank you so much!
Thank you, everyone.

I let my programming buddy comment all the code I write. He's great. His comments looks like this:

I ❤ Swift and Xcode. However, tempted to learn React Native. Just so that I can put my apps on both the App Stores. Also ability to get more projects. What do you think? Is it worth learning? Thank you for the feedback in advance!😀1

My colleague sent me this. Think before you act!
Hi Bob,
This is Alan next door. I’m sorry buddy, but I have a confession to make to you.
I’ve been riddled with guilt these past few months and have been trying to pluck up the courage to tell you to your face but I am at least now telling in text as I can’t live with myself a moment longer without you knowing.
The truth is, I have been sharing your wife, day and night when you're not around.
In fact, probably more than you, particularly in the mornings after you’ve left for work.
I haven’t been getting it at home recently, but that's no excuse I know.
I can no longer live with the guilt and I hope you will accept my sincerest apologies.
My wife has known for some time now and I’ve promised her that it won't happen again.
Regards, Alan.
Bob, feeling anguished and betrayed, immediately went into his bedroom, grabbed his gun, and without a word, shot his wife twice in the head, killing her instantly.
He returned to the lounge where he poured himself a stiff drink and sat down on the sofa.
He took out his phone to respond to the neighbour's text and saw he had another message:-
Hi Bob,
This is Alan next door again.
Sorry about the slight typo on my last text, I expect you worked it out.
Anyway, but as I’m sure you noticed, my predictive text changed ‘WiFi’ To ‘Wife’.
Hope you saw the funny side of that.
Regards, Alan.9 -
I remember learning VB for the first time and then using it to write a software to control a robot via a serial port. I couldn't debug few errors! So I changed the message text in the alert boxes to things like - 'Please press OK to let robot know that you're ready.' 'Robot is thinking. OK to continue'. 😂😆 And my friends still loved me!

The marketing dept comes to me and ask for an important project to be done ASAP. Builds pressure on my PM to get it done fast. After I complete it, I ask them to complete UAT to make sure it is what they wanted so we can go live. They seem to not have enough time to test it. After one month the whole dept gets divested! Is this common or I am unlucky? They never used that very important app ever!!😢😠2
