Checking out the top of the “quality” list is kinda sad, I remember @BlueNutterfly from years ago which is nice but most of the others are just trash posting and js memes.. 🙄
always thought the suggestion (from years ago) to only allow images via camera was pretty smart, guess it didn’t happen -
@theabbie gotcha, still good enough for my ego lol
-
Haha and I made #12 on the “quality” metric.. someone please show my boss lmao 😂
-
Lmao how am I still at #85 after 2 years away 🤔..but not surprised @linuxxx is still miles ahead haha
-
@irene ik ik, used to start them off with feat, bug, chore, etc... (like any sane person) but my new employer used emojis, I pushed back initially but then it grew on me.
Suppose I have a better standing to push back from now... but at the same time I kinda like em 😓 -
@franga2000 is your name a reference to the _wonderful_ Frankston suburb?
-
@Koolstr just a follow up, it ended up being a free logic board replacement, out of warranty but covered under Australian consumer laws 👌🇦🇺
-
I think using vim lasted about a week, back using sublime now. Sorry guys 😬
-
Bro tf are you talking about? lol
-
@xorith I suppose as a JavaScript developer I’ve been able to get away without an IDE pretty easily, typescript is a bit less flexible but once you get linting, vcs helpers and omnisearch working there’s not many more features that add a whole lot of value imo.
-
@senzory a MacBook
-
@GMR516 I was inspired by a coworker, took a while to figure out the basics (select next, skip, delete line, exit lol) but after that and a couple tweaks (project draw, themes, scrolling) it wasn’t that much different than working with sublime and I it’s a lot closer to all my cli tools which I frequently use in sublimes shell anyway.
@hashedram I’m no master but it’s surprisingly straight forward. -
@JoshBent client scrapped it on 3 different occasions.. so there’s still hope I guess 🤷♂️
-
I never liked the attitude of “I’ll hold my work hostage till they pay me”.. IMO it’s kind of childish, if your employer won’t pay you, sue them, report them and or quit. Don’t hang round and act like a kid not sharing till you get what you want... idk, just how I feel.
-
@zickig I don’t know what you mean, I was the idiot who bought the laptop, Apple didn’t hold a gun to my head.
-
@KuMa I actually don’t backup my computers anymore, 95% of what I do is on the cloud somewhere so it was a pretty seamless transition.
@Koolstr The MacBook is out of warranty (of course) and I’m waiting to hear back on the repair cost.. possibly more than just a bad port -
@Koolstr lol yeah, although in the 8 hours since this post I’ve got a new MacBook, setup my env, un-fucked the git repos and about to start working again 😁
-
Just realised my script wasn’t checking out to a new branch and since I was pushing the build to master it triggered CI and I’ve crashed the site.
🤭 -
@PrivateGER I hope not.. or they have much bigger issues
-
Hahaha “the right way” ... myself and every coworker ever will be happy to debate you on exactly what the right way is.
-
@PrivateGER I think it’s time they rewrote it as a native app, it’s so damn slow considering what its doing.
-
@Pseudonymous omg it’s so gooooooood thank you
-
@heikomat yeah that was a joke
-
@sunfishcc oh yeah, didn’t mean it like that..
-
@sunfishcc haha, this!
Having to prove your software works when the numbers don’t add up is my life. Like yes, it says 600 came in but you only 400 went out, this is because your cheap labour workers don’t care about your business. -
Sounds like something jQuery would do
-
@buried my boss knows a lot of Scala and talks it up quite a bit - might try them both out.
Also I’m not bashing Java just because I don’t know how to use it, I didn’t know C# and had no complaints when I had to use it for a couple months. -
@lukegv yeah but it still sucks
-
@b02mne ha! Typescript/JavaScript ofcourse..
-
@d3vnu11 I dunno, sometimes I just like to spice things up
