Our office just moved to a new place and our internet is not yet connected to the line. Our network connects to the web with a mobile access point in the meantime and it's pretty slow.
One of our managers tried to download some large files without success, then decided to try later from home via TeamViewer onto her office PC.
We tried to not laugh.1 -
Well, goodbye my free time, it was a pleasure to meet you sometimes. We'll probably never see each other from now on.
Our government just voted on a law that extends overtime legally like crazy.7 -
I want to learn a new front and back end webdev language. So far, I've found Dart and TypeScript (though this one is not completely new to me) on the front end side, and Go, Elixir and Rust on the back end side. As I don't have too much free time, I can choose one of both sides for now, but I can't decide which ones to go with, since I can read so many pro-contra opinions.
I only need to choose for the skill, I don't have any specific target, I just want to learn new stuff.
Which ones do you suggest? -
That bastard wasp is circling around me like a hungry shark all the time today. Now what is distraction if this isn't?

I love to build (full stack) 2 whole complex websites simultaneously after 4 months of lacking work and waiting for project plans. And both with deadlines in 2 weeks.
Just why can't our PMs do their job and make usable timings? -
Family:
- I pressed a wrong button on my TV remote and now I can't switch channels. Can you fix it? You're pro with computers.
- Can you set the clock in my car?
- You should change workplace to be closer, for example the <random factory name here> needs a new system administrator.
Me:
- Yeah, ok, I'll check that TV, then the car, and no, I shouldn't work for a company as a system administrator, I'm a developer.
Family:
- You can learn while working, it's similar.
Me: *facepalm* -
So a few months ago I decided to use Slim Framework for the smaller projects. I chose it mainly because of the number of the recommendations here when I asked for help. The other reason is the PHP version of our server (which we can't change unfortunately). Everything about Slim is pretty awesome. It's easy to use and stuff - but without virtual hosts, I can't run multiple sites written with it on our server. The last uploaded one always wins in selecting vendor and config paths, and so the older ones want to use those new paths, too. This generates a lot of errors in the log and of course, we can't load completely any sites but the last uploaded one. We've tried everything until now, so guess we need a workaround.3

We've told our client they can test their brand new distribution modul with a new test account already 42 times (not exaggerating, I counted). At least half these, we've sent also the test login data which they could use.
Just now, a new issue message from them says distributors couldn't see some data, we should fix the problem. Well, they already can't see those, but client has logged in with their own account again for testing... -
Well, I got the free stickers months ago. Since then, I still don't know, where I should use them, so now I'm just protecting them in the letter.1

fyi: Neither getProductPrice, nor getProductPrice1 exist.
Btw why was it needed to create this alias function only for calling the other one.
Also, getProductPrice2 is 1.2 KLOC long. -
I wanna rewrite a small php site with a microframework. So far, I've found Silex and Lumen an interesting choice, but I can't decide which one to go with, since both are new to me. Though I'm using Symfony a lot and haven't use Laravel yet and these micro ones are their lite editions, I'd choose Silex but Lumen seems better at first glance, so I'm uncertain. Which one do you suggest?undefined symfony laravel silex lumen helpme help phpftw php microframework choice suggestions are welcome8

3 database SQLs walked into a NoSQL bar.
A little while later they walked out.
Because they couldn't find a table. -
Anyone played Human Resource Machine yet? It's fun to solve and optimize these algorithm puzzles after a hard work day.
Does anyone know other games like this?5 -
My team mate has just found the best conditional statement I've ever seen, in a source code he received from the client.
if (1 == 1)... and it has an else branch :D11 -
Rebuilding a whole disintegrating legacy plain-PHP project from zero in my favourite framework alone with data importers and stuff in 6 weeks.
Gave me some dreamless nights, but it was a great adventure. -
I went home for Chrismas, I got my laptop with me but forgot its charger in my renthouse. Battery is old and it takes about 10 mins for it to run out of power.
What am I supposed to do now?
Btw Merry Christmas!3
