I tell it to them straight. And when they offer like 5% increase when going to them, I just refuse with telling them the reason, that I am not going to leave for such a small bump.

It happened to me once too. I got 20 down votes in like 10 minutes. At that time a mod stepped in a fixed it. Gave me back my points a "archived" or something the question.

The feeling at that time was "Why am I even trying to help someone". So I get it, but suggest you bear with it.
