There are days!?

@Jilano and that’s how we ended up with a million subpar frameworks that save you money and time to build apps that behave just like native apps... NO THEY DON’T.
+None of them are officially supported by the platforms they’re building for. -
I don’t hate it, but let me start with the name. JavaScript, ECMAScript, ES2015, ES2016 or whatever. No other popular language has such stupidly confusing names.
I know one can lookup and read about their naming and stuff, but what the fuck? -
People just don’t understand that this is how it’s done. Learning from someone is temporary, google is always available.
Single most important skill needed to be a good developer: Googling. -
Adding on to other comments… when the content is large enough that it needs scrolling, you’ll end up with 4-way scrolling.
Horizontal scrolling works great for images, not for text. -
It’s a struggle between keeping it under 80 cols and not using too much lines.

Rant about not having a rant to rant about.

Yarn? Never again.

It was probably 4 GIGgles.

There HAS to be an e-mail server. Even for forwarding emails.
It could be provided by your hosting provider, domain registrar, or third party. Some domain providers provide email forwarding service, essentially receiving the email on their servers then forwarding it to your email. -
@hitko yes, precisely. It’s a gray area, not binary right/wrong. Sometimes it needs to be done, sometimes it’s wiser not to do it.

Unless you absolutely urgently need a job and there’s no other option, listen to @projektaquarius

I’ve been there, still get this sometimes.
It’s just a dilemma of being too nice vs being unhelpful arrogant.
This works most of the time:
Delay doing anything, endlessly. When they ask, just say I’ve been stuck with something else will look into it later... or if it’s urgent, you can do this this this to do it by yourself.
Remember, doing it isn’t your responsibility. It’s better to be a bit harsh today than hating that person completely in long run. -
But everybody already knows how to drive a bicycle, why build a car?

Does 12 years of school count?

In my case not calling it out was a better option, otherwise I’d have to explain why it’s a scam to everyone involved. That’d take days at best, and. All. That. Socialising. Ehh. No.
I’ll just wait 2 years until they find out themselves the shithole they’ve in.
Then I’ll laugh on their face for next 2 years, at least. -
There are some proprietary solutions that are Bullcrap as well. Does that make proprietary solutions bullcrap?
Does a bullcrap software written in Python makes all software written in Python bullcrap?
Please stop generalising.
Yes there are many OSS that are terrible - but a substantial number of them are as robust as one can be. -
You got paid for getting efficient at what you do!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

Been there. Docker has some predefined hostname to access host system. Not sure what it’s called though.

I recently started monitoring them. Using Uptime Robot for now. It’s notification system is very helpful for me.
