From a budget standpoint, unity would be the best engine to use.

Chances are if you're using it to get away from Windows but still game, you're not going to enjoy it. Setting up Wine is not enjoyable for the result of lower fps if the game will even still work.
I recommend dual booting both windows and a Linux distro, that way you can still natively game and still get the Linux experience -
I've been enjoying Flutter immensely, hot reload is a godsend when debugging. Dart's syntax is similar to Java and being an OOP, the logic stays very very similar.
In saying that though, i have no experience with kotlin so take it with a grain of salt -
- Less to no bloatware
- Can be fully customisable to your needs
- Centered with user's privacy in mind
- A multitude of distros all with their own pros and cons for use with different tasks
There are cons though:
- If using Windows orientated stuff, it'll be a nuisance, aka Gaming, some 'everyday' programs, etc
- Updating peripherals have been an issue on linux as some companies only create Windows programs to update it
I'm sure there's more pros and more cons, but do your research on what certain distros can do to match your needs.
I'm currently running a dual boot Elementary and Windows on my laptop -

@oxmox Yea im aware it's a bourbon but the common person just refers to it as whiskey still haha

There is an art to good whiskey, and there's an art to be able to enjoy it
Personally i dont like the jack daniels, etc run of "cheap" whiskey, jacks is good for mixing but that's it.
The best whiskey ive ever had was a single malt 101 year old japansese whiskey and on my god that was smooth -

ITT: 'Developers' don't understand that when other people are unsure if you are knowledgable on something they will explain it to you just to make sure you know everything you're suppose to know incase you miss on something.
That is how people act, you were incredibly mean to someone who was trying to help you even if you didn't need help. I would recommend apologising. -

the computer ai is built upon its own machine learning so hopefully by the end of the session you wont be able to beat it -

I had someone tell me to completely overhaul my entire code to use a more obscure, less functional inbuilt class in order to do what i wanted to do
15 minutes later another guy told me i had two words in the wrong spot that needed to be fix and boom, fixed -
What their design philosophy is,
Have a look at their folio,
Pick out one you like the most; asked them about why they did it the way they did
Pick out one you like the least; same thing as before -

The companies ive talked to, they always say that more often than not having the degree gets you into the interview, but isn't the deciding factor upon whether or not you have the job.
It always comes down to practical skill.
