May I ask, have you verified these numbers? 😅
-
I use VS code as a task manager/note pad and just copy paste things from there. Sometimes it is indeed a bit of pain, but hey with great power comes great responsibility 😂
-
#makePeaceAgain 😂 but on a more serious note I do agree. Although there will be always personal preferences, however flaming other things just because that is not what you like is an ignorant move...
-
Lenovo ThinkPad + Dock + 2 screens thank me later 😅
-
If you are doing .Net you might want to consider TFS, it's merging/conflict resolution is way better, having said that if the project is not that large or there will be not to many conflicts then sure... We moved from TFS to Git but the auto merges are sometimes are just pain wrong, otherwise looking good...
-
This analogy seems to be just a tad off...😁
-
That is electron for ya...
-
@fun2code I use VS Code as editor, however you just can't use it for large projects. How would you work on a C#, C++ project in Atom? Not to mention debugging, profiling, navigation? Had projects with 15 GB of code base, 300 projects in the solution, there is no way in hell that you can deal with that complexity without VS + R#
-
I have said many times, find a better one and let me know 😉
-
Come brother, cry on my shoulder! I am a Windows guy but F sake search is garbage, have a look at my rant about it, there are some wonderful comments...
-
Least he does not pretend to be typing 😂😂😂
-
Just log that time properly and make sure they are subsidized according to your current rage at the end of the month ☺️👍
-
Actually it makes sense 😂 and quite simple, though I can only assume what item path could be, but the rest is very common generic data access code.
-
Find a better one that I can actually do the same things and faster... Let me know if you succeed 😅
-
@Jop- I just don't understand your expectations... You want to use a customer product as a webserver and then complain about it. Moving to Linux that workload is the right decision if you can't afford licensee, but then again, I would like to do many things too, that I can't afford, but that is not the fault of the service providers...
-
@bittersweet agreed, however all Enterprise versions have more control over updates even with the E3 package you gained way more control. And if you need to operate 24/7 getting an Enterprise license should not be a hurdle. BTW getting it is not that complicated you just need to be a company or work at a decent company...
-
@pajaja if you have such critical workload, I truly doubt, get the Enterprise version and stop crying please, thanks.
-
@Bikonja so the base line here is that you have time, now what method you choose is up to you, If you really concerned you should get Windows pro (should have it if you are developer anyway) allows you to defer updates or Enterprise and then you live without updates for years unless it's critical.
-
@watzon I don't want to defend Microsoft but You have weeks to do it before it starts crying...
-
Common guys just set the BLOODY update time for like 3 am... Problem solved... But if you are always busy even during night or unable to save your work than you deserve worse than that...
-
@bittersweet I'm not a web developer, just try things out to be up to date, having said that I do agree there isn't a real easy to port your app from one to two or four as of now...
-
Please use descriptive tags...
-
@AlgoRythm actually it is, just looked it up, and even more, on almost all Linux distributions... So no fancy pants theme for me 😂
-
That is PS on Mac or Mac theme in Windows? 😂
-
@WildOrangutan I was at the point multiple times where started working on a search app, might look at it again during the weekend... Should make it open source...
-
@AmineIzumi I do agree it might be hard in the beginning. However comments can be dangers to, since if you change your logic but forget to update your comments, now you are misleading yourself and others... If you have the time I highly recommend Clean code from Robert C. Martin a great book and can help a lot...
-
What if it is all simulation? What if you are just generated code? 😅😂
-
If you need comments that badly something is really not ok with that code... I personally consider it to be code smell, unless you are writing a library for external use... But then again that is documentation not comments...
-
@loopback I feel your pain... Multiple times every week 😧
-
That is a driver error... You like it or not Windows is very stable nowadays, but God forbid those old drivers... You know the ones that you didn't even get on Linux, maybe it's better that way...
