@PRein at the informatics institute at my uni your amount of swag is proportionate with the amount of stickers on your laptop, so just upping my street cred 😎
-
@linuxer4fun i study compsec, gotta keep the paranoia up ;)
-
Arch + i3wm = love
-
I always send "let me Google that for you" links to people asking about the most obvious stuff
-
You can probably find a PDF of it by pirate means or not, but the book Clean Code by Robert C. Martin is something every programmer should read in my opinion :)
-
@souravsharan Its a pretty simple and nice wireless connection manager
-
Use a wired connection and download and use wicd to get wireless up and running :)
-
As mentioned, Arch with i3 is absolutely amazing. Setting up Arch can be a pain, but as soon as you got it up and working its a amazing and lightweight environment, and with i3 your workspace is fast and flows very well!

@LucaScorpion if in doubt: install Debian
-
@Jase i have literally no idea what I'm doing, but it definitely runs smooth and nice after a cactus anal rape of a setup 😂
-
@Jase fresh installed Arch now
-
@catchiecop i'm just happy the project is temporary, and I'm the only one maintaining the code 😂 i would've refactored and fixed it a long time ago, but I know its going to /dev/null as soon as it has served its purpose so I can't be arsed to do any further maintaining than the absolute necesarry 😇

As mentioned above, a interface can be explained as a contract, containing the method names (not the implementation, just the name) of methods a class implementing it MUST have to be able to run/compile. An abstract class can be thought of as how a human implements animal. You can't initialize animal, but all animals have a already implemented .sleep() function which can be derived from the animal abstract class instead of defining it in itself. That's pretty much how I got it.

@jckimble fair, but its close enough I suppose
-
@Kimmax well, I haven't actually tried letting it finish because it takes way too long anyway hahah but yeah, I imagine it would get stuck
-
@rayanon yeah, it's one of those Linux things that is completely useless yet kinda fancy at the same time
-
@linuxer4fun Ahahah have fun :D
-
@linuxer4fun as far as I know, and I may very well be wrong, I think it would take some dark magic to brick it so hard that you can't reinstall or fix it in any way. You can although unsafely overclock stuff so you fry your motherboard. Some nifty BIOS stuff and whatnot and you can tell your CPU to go full overdrive and boom, there's a hole in your mobo (figuratively) :D
-
@linuxer4fun brick your OS*
You know what I meant ;) -
@linuxer4fun yuuup! So its not gonna brick your pc or anything. Let it run until you're done convincing people your pc is dying, and then ctrl c it, and all is normal again :D
-
@linuxer4fun it runs cat on every single file on your system. So you get a never ending stream of stuff in your terminal, and it just looks like your pc is having a stroke. It doesnt change anything or do anything dangerous since it only runs cat, just looks funny :)

Install i3 window manager and symbind EVERYTHING, and proceed with never taking your hands off the keyboard ever again
