AboutI used to be a gamedev, like you. Then I took a burnout to the brain.

Same Google whose pagespeed tool will complain about 'Unused JavaScript' when loading their own Gtag script using the snippet they provide.

I would just like to be able to select text on a page.
Outlook web. Preview pdf attachment. Shows title of PDF at the top. I need a term from that title. Cannot select that text.
Why? What purpose does that serve?
For that matter: custom click handlers on links, and then custom-implementing part of the standard interactions.
'Click on link' - opens in new focused tab. Ok whatever.
'CMD-click' - opens in new focused tab. Should be background tab. Now I cannot open multiple links quickly, because the new tab has focus.
'Middle mouse button' - does nothing.
What's wrong with an `a` element? There's ways to work that even into tables. -
Chinese Export, am I right?
-
The banking app of my bank is literally called 'banking'.
-
Where I live, you can check into most (all?) public transport using your debit (bank) card, without getting it registered. Now, if only it was an affordable means of transportation.

We have some collections shared in a Postman Team. I saw the pricing. It is SO expensive! And it's a per-seat subscription! Wildly overpriced for what it offers.
-
If someone does this, I will oblige for the first time and tell them to split next time. Thankfully, I have great colleagues, so this has never been a recurring issue.
If it would be though, there is the reject button. -
Hey, they rescheduled it when you confronted them. That's something.
Hopefully, they made a more structural change following that, though that may be a bit too optimistic. -
@root Amazing 😂
-
Yeah, did this. Would _very_ much recommend. Several close family members of mine also do this. I had to revert to 5 days a week to get a mortgage though... Dutch housing market is brutal for starters.

Not being able to install Win11 is a feature
-
I work at one that more or less fits that description and DevRant makes me realize just how rare and valuable that is...
-
Everytime I hear about a USB rebranding I want to scream.
-
@electrineer Haha that's one possibility
-
Every time in Windows explorer when I drag a file and accidentally hover over a mounted network share that I cannot access (Home NAS) explorer goes: 'Gotta connect to that now, for sure!' and hangs until the attempted connection times out. Could be better.
-
So if your success is failing, you should try again? 🤔
-
There used to be a service where you could send people a glitterbom in an envelope. They shut down very quickly. Because they could not at all handle the demand.
-
But the picture has words... ☹️
-
Also, there's apps that'll disable windows updates for you (and keep them disabled)
-
At least it's very in-depth 😂

That reminds me of a time I visited a zoo and noticing there was an on-screen keyboard on the ticket-buying terminal. It was mostly out of the screen (visible for just a few pixels), but I managed to drag it onto the screen. Then I did alt-tab to minimize the fullscreen ticket buying program.
The thing ran Windows and was logged into an admin account. I wasn't sure if I should put my bankcard into the machine after that. Did it anyway. Fun day at the zoo. -
Ah yes. Just like history books that have a new edition every year. For all the amazing discoveries made about the roman emperors on a yearly basis.

My work/home mode is so separate that I have trouble getting any work done from home. At the office though, I can focus great. Really like interacting with colleagues too. Sitting at home staring at a monitor makes me feel like a drone from a dystopian scifi movie within a day.

@qwwerty I hate gallery apps, probably because I'm thinking folders then. I get not being used to it, but not even understanding the concept? My mind is kinda blown.
-
All the AI needs to be able to do is say: "No, let's not do that" for most of the duration of the call. Then the programmer can make a proper proposal for the requirements. Good cop, bad cop.
-
@qwwerty what. how did that even happen.
-
Then browser cache are traumatic experiences, in the sense that it's near-impossible to remove them?
-
I have colleagues that just keep opening tabs without closing them (accumulating during the day before being purged at the end, I guess) and every time I'm asked for help I look at the tab containing their work (we do webdev), I open some docs in a new tab and we talk about the issue. And then I need them to take the mouse to go back to the work-tab because I cannot for the life of me find it again.
It mostly just amuses me, would find that difficult to work with.
Tabs I need to keep, I pin. If I have more than a few (like ten) others tabs open, I just close the one's I'm not using at that time. If I closed something I need again, I just regoogle or open my browser history... -
@jonas-w I once saw a twitter post of a politician mentioning a national IT security solution involving a 'smart blockchain firewall' 😂
