They finally arrived.

So I got a call earlier today that a letter from the US arrived for me. I can only guess what's in it.

Befriend Google.

Best part for me is when you see the final product. I do not mean once you're done working on the entire project (which is never true, always more to do! xD) but when you add a feature and it works.

Actually seeing it work, that gives me such a good, fulfilling feeling.

That has always been what attracted me to programming, or.. the main thing.

Any SANE web developer here who could share their usual tools for building a website.

And if you would use entire different tool sets for different sites, which ones would you use for which kinds of sites?

I've been wondering, is anyone else having problems with Windows 10 restrictions.

I have pretty much the same authorization as a regular user just as I do as an administrator.

I've had to uninstall countless programs and games due to authorization issues.

Anyone?

5 steps to make your coworkers go nuts.

Step 1: Get on their computer while they're not around.
Step 2: Choose a bit of their code and make it so it's in one long line.
Step 3: Comment out the line.
Step 4: Change the text color to the color of the editor's background.
Step 5: Watch them going nuts.

My father was very supportive. Every time I was studying he'd take the dog for a walk, do the dishes and whatnot so I could study quietly and uninterrupted.

The rest of my family was supportive as well but not on that level. They always told me how awesome it is and do what I love.

A previous rant made me start doubting my choices.

I just graduated from college (but college here is probably not what you call college. You choose whether you do one more year and gain the 'x technician' certificate or you do two years and get the 'practical engineer' degree)

Hope you understand it.

Anyway, so I continued 1 year (I skipped 1 year so it's like I did the whole two years) and I have a practical engineer degree in electronics.

I love programming and really want to work in the field but (since I know nothing about the market) I don't even know if I'll get a job without going to university and getting a degree (which I want to get, I want to learn Software Engineering though, not CS)

So now to my question, do you guys truly think getting a degree will be a waste of my time?

tl;dr I want to get a Software Engineer degree, but a lot of posts say it's a waste of time. Who agrees and who doesn't?

Am I the only one around here who waits a second or two after a new line to see if I get a red scribbly line in the next line. (Usually a missing semicolon indicator)

I decided I want to explore web development but don't know where to start.

I'm assuming the first step would be to learn HTML, but after that? What should I learn?
