Aaaaand it's here! My complete photo gallery. Sorry it's on google photos though. Every other thing compresses photos, and the library is too large to be put on GitHub LFS. I have to rent a VPS, and I'm too tired now from going through my photos the entire weekend to pick out the best.

A lot of them are liminal. The overall theme is fernweh — am acute nostalgia for a place you've never been to or a feeling you've never felt. I strive to achieve that in every shot I take.

I had a camera pointing at me, my desk and my computer.
The submission was through Google Drive.
So I use my phone to scan my test into a PDF, upload it, and when I tried to submit it...

My recent documents were full of nudes of Belle Delphine.
I had forgotten a friend sent that while we were on Discord having some laughs earlier and I clicked it to check.

I selected my exam, submitted it, and went on with it.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but I think it was kind of obvious, even if it was a screen in a camera... the previews were kinda big on my big screen.

Hey all! It's a me, Skayo, you might know me from the very early years of devRant, my highlight bot, my random quote bot, the devRant-Community on GitHub or any of the dumb rants and things that I've posted during my time.

Since I'm currently doing a cleanup of my old GitHub repos and this platform is still somewhat active, I have decided to pass on or publish all my projects and things I've created for this community back in the days.

It seems like Python solutions are always shorter.

Imagine developing a frontend for 2 months.

And then one day, PM says, that we have a critical library that we need to integrate with. There is no other alternative (apparently).

And then you check the library, and see, that it's written in a completely different language, that we can't really integrate with.

Project restarts and you get blamed, for not mentioning this earlier.

At 11 pm tonight, someone from my friends group made a sudden plan of travelling 60 kms away from the city at 12 midnight. They were getting hyped up so I matched their energy and said Yes I'll go.

They all said they're going to their house and get ready and meet up in half hour at 11:30 pm.

I didn't go to my home since I was already good to go so I stayed in my building's lobby.

At 11:30 pm my head started spinning and I canceled on them and came back home, because in that half hour break they were all at their homes, I got some rest and my body took that as an indicator of being ready to go to sleep.

I can't even pull a half-nighter now, I'm getting old......sigh.

Public service announcement: Wearing club de nuit perfume will have random people get close to you and smell the perfume thus complimenting it but making it really uncomfortable.

My brother in law gifted me this awesome perfume and it has brough upon some very serious awkward encounters.

I know it smells good, and I know I am pretty, but please ma'am I am married and this is weird, get away and ask me. Seriously no one every talks about how dudes get put into weird positions sometimes and I don't like females getting close to me.

I wear the perfume because I like the smell, and I get it, but please leave me alone.

I haven't posted here in ages, but I thought I would come on and gush to perhaps the only community that might have people in it who would care: Insomnia allows syncing with git repos to backup your collections! For me, that means that I now have a bunch of repos in my forgejo instance for insomnia collections.

Even if I was a subscriber, I would still much rather sync between desktops this way.

Anyway, I hope everybody's doing well.

I just had a new employee, barely out of school, question whether or not we are ready to start a big refactor of an aging legacy system. She knows nothing about the system we are about to attack, barely has 12 months experience as a developer and knows nothing about the past 6 years of countless meetings, discussions and experience leading to the decision to refactor. Still, she's not "convinced" we are ready to get started.

Gen Z - they sure are something different. God damn it, I know it sounds old but where's the fucking humbleness? Spoilt little shits, the world is fucked.

There's a few people in here who are clearly mentally ill and using devrant instead of getting help.

I just want to say thank you to those individuals for making this place what it is! This place would suck without you.

we switched from GitHub to BitBucket and I saw my colleague try to run `bit status` because they thought GitHub = git so BitBucket = bit.

Was in a meeting(been quite a lot actually) with a lot of people that hold "director" in their title. As per our institution's salaries and ranking description, they do not "outrank" me. Our titles are just different, but they are there with me.

It surprises them quite a bit when they try to have some hold in the direction of my department just for me to tell them that they do not really get to tell me what to do or how to do things after I show them said chart. It surprises them a bit more when they find out what I am saying is completely true.

I don't appreciate people trying to manhandle my employees.

The conversations that follow are quite interesting as I am quite vocal in our interactions.
