So I saw a new fucked up trick a job offering company did. If you view their job offers and want to click on one of them it forces you to sign up to their newsletter. No opt out in small lettering.

What kind of fucked up place forces opting into a news letter to view a job offer?

Job searching in 2018. Not great options, but job providers and sites are still human.

Job searching in 2025. Process is completely devoid of human decency, filled with cunts, and makes you want to die early. Plus there are NO FUCKING JOBS.

Fucking hell. I have to wonder... is that even legal? Seems like the lack of opting out would violate the GDPR, at least. !sure about the USA, though.

@D-4got10-01 dude, in the USA, we have corps trying to use EULA clauses to get out of wrongful death cases. Literally Disney. This couple had previewed Disney Plus once and never signed up. But the preview meant they had signed the EULA. Which had a clause of forced arbitration and you can't sue Disney. The couple was at Disneyland and the place gave the wife some food she was allergic to. They had informed them what she was allergic to beforehand. Somehow stuff got in her food that would harm her. So she died. The husband sued and the slimy lawyers decided to try to use the fucking EULA. So no, I don't think any evil shit behavior is off the table here.

It didn't used to be this way. But being treated like shit by corps has made them an enemy of the people. People weren't sue happy. If walmart so much as stubs my toe I am going to get a piece of them. I hate this is how it is. But they would fucking let you die if it saved money.

@D-4got10-01 and people wonder why it is a leap of logic that they would conspire to kill a large amount of people on the planet...

They telegraph how evil they are through their actions.

Also found out today that someone was not getting any interviews or callbacks after applying. So they took all dates off everything in their resume. They started getting calls and interviews. So the majority of places they applied were practicing ageism. Which is illegal. It is also why there is a lawsuit against Workday.

You resumed it very well, and job search in the 2000 was very cool.

I'm still not over the fact that it is normal to send out a CV with your whole life story. Not just relevant information like degrees in the field and prior experience.

    It's why I became a freelancer.

@TrayKnots wait, what? People do that?

May I introduce you to the concept of countereconomics
