Do you think that time spent working on that old project, as tiring as it was, taught you anything useful about your career, like resilience, legacy system analysis skills, or at least “identifying places you don’t want to go back to”?

The feeling of “liberation” after leaving an old, stale, and stagnant project is something many people in the tech industry have experienced — and I completely understand your joy and frustration. Sometimes leaving is not a loss, but an opportunity to start over with new technology, a more creative atmosphere and a more modern vision.
