    I want to ride one

@TeachMeCode you want to ride an austrian?

    > Americans, am I right

you would be, if everything english was american. but it isn't, so you're not.
  • 2
@tosensei yes, but no other English-speaking culture needs this warning. They already know the difference.
  • 2
@kiki that's a racist and wrong stereotype, and you know it.

    there's dumb idiots everywhere.

and there's distinction warnings for similarly named items on _lots_ of wikipedia pages in every language.

don't get me wrong: the USA are a huge, steaming shithole with a big amount of flaws and about the same quality of culture as a mold sample - but there's enough proper reasons to bash them. don't make up fake ones for no reason.

that's something a 'murrican would do, after all.

    @tosensei an ostrich lol
  • 1
@TeachMeCode silly you. there are no ostriches in austria.

@tosensei you might find one at a zoo….but if not, I can change that. I’m going to make history!

@TeachMeCode you'd have better chances at a food truck festival. although i must say, ostrich tastes kinda boring.

I worked on an ostrich farm.

Whatever they're called they're fucking stupid. Sometime they eat piece of woods that gets stuck in their stupid long neck and then they starve to death.

and also mean. You can't go near them they will attack you

Emus, on the other hands, are the coolest birds there is

    > Emus, on the other hands, are the coolest birds there is

    have you heard of penguins?

@tosensei They're cool too I gotta admit. But the emus were coming at me rubbing their heads against me. Also sometime they're dancing.

    they taste really good
  • 1
@antigermgerm I've read that their brain is smaller than their eye. Also, is it true that they can cut you wide open with one kick because of how sharp their claws are?

@tosensei America is a multiracial country.
  • 0
@tosensei does it taste like turkey? Yeah, they’re probably too muscular and ganey to eat anyway

@kiki america is a continent. two, actually. you mean the USA.

also: you can be racist against multiple groups at once - if you choose to ignore that "racism", for quite a while now, is being used as a catch-all term for multiple specific types of prejudiced discrimination, for example base on religion or nationality.

if you wanna split hairs, split the right one.

@TeachMeCode well, the ostrich-burger i had tasted something inbetween "medium-grade beef" and "generic, non-descript meat".
  • 2
@kiki I mean that's an exageration and they very rarely kill iirc but they can totally break your hips and leg bones and leave you paralised
  • 2
@tosensei the word “America” meaning “USA” makes more sense than the word “racism” meaning what’s not racism. I’m not racist and will never be racist, because you can’t change your race. Meanwhile, “American defaultism” and poor access to quality education can be changed. This is what I made fun of
