kiki3706512h@Demolishun btw, formats mean nothing. If "memes" contain CP, ppl who post them _should_ be jailed.

EU has plenty of surveillance tho
Not much less than US
For example, multiple European countries have tried multiple times to ban or limit encrypted things(apps, devices, networks), VPNs, control free speech and press, and other similars. -
kiki370652h@SoldierOfCode the difference is that they _tried_ and not succeeded in most jurisdictions. US didn't even bother to ask their citizens -- they just went for it, succeeded, and then won the cultural war as well by making what CIA does socially acceptable as long as it's CIA who's doing that.

@kiki the US government (in league with MOSAD) destroyed a couple of buildings in NYC. Then used that fear generated to pass the Patriot Act which allowed for unfettered surveillance and removal of due process for suspected terrorists.

kiki370652h@Demolishun I don't believe that they did that, but oh boy do I believe they exploited the hell out of it. like with covid, I don't believe it was made in a lab, but I believe it was used as an excuse to test a lot of mass control strategies.
US is like macOS: a surveillance state (cough cough prism cough cough) that claims to be better than everyone else.
China is like Windows: total surveillance, you have no rights, you control nothing.
EU is like Linux: a lot of vaguely similar things, little to no surveillance, ugly (banking) apps.
