@Oktokolo big companies actually do thorough background checks. They may not be interested in your relationships there but they do confirm you worked there. One employer contacted my university too.

Argh. Always frustrating when this happens. Normally, i love code reviews coz they often make my code better when this back and forth happens, it is always frustrating. My manager is so empathic he would say i know this is annoying but the reason is so and so and that helps with the frustration.

@Floydimus i don’t know got me in so much “good” trouble at an old job. Every time i said it, it was like i was lighting a fire under the ass of this horrible project manager. I loved it. He couldn’t do shit to me coz i have a mouth as sharp as razor 😂 gosh i still hate that man and i must remember to key his car when next i am passing by the old office (i know he works late sooooo…dont judge 😇)

Relatable. I have resolved to coding from 5:30-6:00AM so by the time the meetings start during the day, i would have gotten a chunk of code written and i can dose off during the meetings. Often times my input isn’t really needed. Showing up is just a performance act.

I am quite small so people assume i am much younger than i am. Someone asked my 20 years old sister yesterday if i was her friend and someone at the hospital called my cousin who is the same age as me my mother.
In uni i was the youngest in class so i lied the whole time about my age by adding another year and i was still the youngest.
Glad i am not the youngest engineer at my new job now tho but probably the smallest physically.
