For anyone that wants to contribute to open source but doesn't know how, check out this post:

What non-dev team members don't understand is that when we tell them to wait while we're coding, we actually don't ignore them but try to finish the code before we forget what were we typing.1

This formula from Gödel's incompleteness theorem. It basically says there is no hope to ever know if your program is correct ... 😁

Best hack... Think it was in high school when I figured out the eurobate free sms api was exposed and with my own php script could send as many free sms as I wanted and sms nuke friends.
Sms cost quite a lot pr message back then. -
* Searches google for some code and wants the results on stackoverflow *
* doesn't want to use stackoverflow search *3 -
All my code is hacked together and barely works and is nowhere near shameless. But I'm pretty proud of my hardware hacks. Like the sticker that holds the casing on my laptop together.2

I'm wondering what peanuts Amazon pays its devs.
PS: This is why I prefer native over HTML 'apps' :v1 -
Today my senior colleague asked me to write an inline style and make it !important and I started at him for 2 minutes before smashing the keyboard on his head and then I realised that it was just playing in my head so I stopped staring at him and went back to webstorm and wrote that !important inline.3

Coding is easy, but it's the logic which gives us a hard time. Because in the end what we write needs to make sense or it's tits up for everyone.1

Very high number of quality rants lately. Trending up fast in my opinion. Even today - Saturday which used to be a lighter day.
Becoming a nice challenge to read them all. Way to go. Keep on ranting! What do you think about the rant volume and quality?2 -
Friend : Dude I have mastered Object Oriented Programming. I work only in classes now.
Me : That's nice! Only a Few people manage to master it. Which language do you prefer though?

Officially resigned this morning from my helpdesk position.
in two weeks I officially begin my career as a junior dev. I'm on cloud 9 and yet still don't believe it.7 -
So I missed the first 3 days of my programming class. Once I showed up to the 4th the professor was really cool about it. She informs me on the HW I missed and so after the test she handed me (which was overdue as well) I started on the HW. By the end of the class I show her the exercises I did and just by how I structured each function (Python btw) she could tell that I was advanced for the class... I was surprised when she said that I didn't have to show up to the class because it would be a waste of my time, and that I can use the time to focus on personal projects. She offered to help me out with database dev (which ironically I planned on reading head first sql after a design pattern book). The thing that hit home was when she said "I think you're going to be a great programmer."31

Stop f*cking calling me minority or part of a underrepresented group. Yeah I noticed I am one of the only women on a conference. I DONT CARE, I AM A PROGRAMMER NOT A SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE. Hire me for my work, not because you want you company to be more diverse.50

When one of the newest developers submits code that looks 100x better than his usual stuff and you respond "You need to include the link to where you got this"3
