@jassole that's what they say but in the end the truth is one and only one. You'll see.

It's not about "amusing" Him, not even about building anything (other than your spiritual life). It's not the destination but the journey. Like a finger pointing to the moon...

Why do you consider all those as bugs in existence? They all have a purpose. There's no bugs in the universe. If you can't think of a (good) purpose, doesn't mean it doesn't have one. Evilness exists because God allows it. On the other hand, it's fun but understandable that you think of God as a human being and think he'd be overwhelmed by his own creation, but He can't be understood nor comprehended completely by our minds.

It's the opposite. What are the roles and responsibilities in your team?
-
@Voxera what about Vim?
-
Me programming year X: choosing a technology shouldn't be the main priority.
-
It seems that in your project you don't participate in solution design which leads to these situations. I don't know what role you have there, are you a developer? If so, it's your responsibility to communicate them what they're doing wrong and show them the right way. You may want to read clean codeR.
-
Like Sheldon? Lol
-
Atom is not an IDE. I'd suggest you Vim. And I don't get it neither.
-
Why you can't? Yes, you can learn the base. Maybe you should ask yourself: why shouldn't I? The answer is because that's how technology works. That's what advanced technology means: layers over layers...
-
That's the difference between a programmer and a developer as stated in clean coder. Developers not only do what they're asked but help to solve the problem by designing a solution. It's not the manager's responsibility but developers. Read clean codeR for more about this.

I stream events using kafka. Does it count?

I don't agree that mid and seniors do the same. Mid complicate too much and don't understand business needs. They see the tree not the forest. They may have some knowledge but don't have enough experience and therefore they don't know how to apply use that knowledge, causing confusion and many times over complicating things. Mid may be able to deliver a project but at a higher cost (time, resources, etc).

You better practice a sport or get a hobby. Do something different. It might help.
-
It doesn't mean they don't have databases and don't need replication and caching.
-
I agree. Just like to add that if you have a breach sometimes it can be seen in htop :p
-
What do you mean by substandard equipment?

I've found that many times is easy if the problem at the domain level is clearly defined. After that many questions are answered automatically. And that's because the code is solving a problem of the domain, then it's not just variable names but domain terms.
-
I've seen many projects with unmaintainable "unit tests". Which is - maybe - worst than not writing unit tests at all.
-
@IntrusionCM what do you mean? Could you please explain further?
-
I don't think that's a problem, maybe they don't understand the market. I mean, the demand is so high everywhere... That's why my question :)
