echo? Ooo, boy you're about to get schooled by some senior devs.

Was the person having a stroke? Are they okay?

I work in a small office with an Austrian who eats extremely loud, fork screeching on glass, loud chewing and.. licking. loud licking wtf. So, I bought a mechanical keyboard for work in passive aggressive retaliation. I love the thing! I have one at home and a smaller one to keep with my netbook. I used to feel the same way about the short key travel on laptops, but the satisfying click.. ahh

tmux is awesome! It would also be worth learning screen, which is less sophisticated but included in most distros - great for quick server work.

Everyone is stoned?

I second, third or fourth WebStorm or PhpStorm, which seems to have all of WS's features plus development tools.

"So can you build me a robot that does my laundry?? lol" :/

This might be an unpopular suggestion but.. Vue.js man.

There's a bunch of great tutorials on a website called vimcasts.org, and I believe Jeffrey Way did a vim series on laracasts.com. Don't remember if he has that one publicly available without subscription though.

:! to run a shell command without leaving vim!
And :o to open or create a new file, then :b0, :b1, :b2.. to jump between them. -
Everything seems to be headed towards web based applications. As an backend developer with little to no design skills I have to carefully word my profession to avoid falling into the "my 14yo nephew makes websites too!" category.
Not that there aren't some very talented teenage designers and developers out there, and my front end guys are amazing, but I write code dammit, databases and apis and other weird ass shit nobody sees. -
*cringe* I hate this stereotype so much.

Windows is great for gaming, I don't mind 10 for that at all. But I can't get any work done on it without at least being ssh'd into a Linux box with vim. My i3 key combos.. I can't flow without them. Having to use a mouse to set window/monitor focus, or alt tab multiple times to select what I need.. nobody should have to live like that.
Aside from that, Win10 isn't all that bad of a release, they're trying to integrate bash. A weird bash yes, but it beats the hell out of cmd. Maybe they're getting too "app-ey" and tracking your personal info, but it's no worse than a phone, or even google or facebook. Outside of pure FOSS your info is being used to pay for services, but it does add personal convenience. I just don't really give much of a fuck about all that. If I'm doing something nefarious or super private it'd be through tor on linux, not logged in to a service.
