Thanks for the feedback guys, looks like this has not been received well, which is ok. I ran into a problem where I was not able to access simple Instagram data for my clients (even via APIs), and it was frustrating. That's why I made the website. But looks like this might be an edge case problem that not a lot of people ran into in the past.
-
@gazza101uk we scrape Instagram data. Instagram has discontinued access to their API. They still do have API via Facebook, but it's extremely limited and pretty much useless. If Instagram makes any updates we'll just update our code as well to make sure it's always working.

@AleCx04 yup of course! Had to go through 2 or 3 of experiences like these in order to really get good at what I do (another one was when I fucked up and deleted a blog DB of a major news company, and they didn't keep a backup). But I kept pushing myself to learn and get better and stop fucking up. It's been years since I made a major mistake like this, and most of my clients tell me I'm able to accomplish what their other developers were not able to. I guess u just have to make some mistakes and learn from them in order to really get good.
-
@BM32 if I were u I'd take advantage of the situation. You can easily tell him things will take twice as long, and just work on side projects (either for urself, or make more $$ by freelancing)!
-
Hold my "wheatgrass tea", lmao!

@Minion biz plans don't apply to startups. For example, the biz plan for Uber, Tesla, AirBnB would have been, "this is illegal therefore it will fail", but they ended up working around the law to become billion dollar companies. By definition startup = something that has not been done before, and biz plans need accurate historical data to predict the future, therefore the two don't go along very well. Another example: if ur in the AI biz, u can be the next billionaire, or fail to develop a great product even after $100MM in investments, no one knows cause it's never been done before, and startups take advantage of this like crazy.

I normally just start cursing at the screen, but yea bro, I feel your pain!
-
Are u parsing CSV using frontend JS, if so, r there any good/small libraries/code for that?
-
@hawkes thanks, will look into it.
-
Hey Gary, I'm not sure what you mean by "node version manager, I figured it out!"
-
@jhh2450 It's a 15" Macbook Pro laptop. Just swipe up with 4 fingers to view all the open windows at once.
-
Lmao. I think it makes it even more funnier cause it slow, but also a bit annoying as the same time, lol.
-
Lmao! Ad block block block block block block block block.... were u listening carefully?
-
Mind... blown!

@linuxxx will add SSL soon for sure. @FoxTobs, I think that's the best comment I've gotten for this product :). @krlooss yup, the UI needs a slight update. @gnaaah will add a message for users without JS. @revDant this was put together really quickly, that's why, but thx for the suggestion. @wglenn @pascalwacker I plugged into Amazon API to get pricing, might be pulling the wrong price or something, will look into it. And like most people mentioned, I'll work on decreasing load time as well.
-
Thanks for all the feedback everyone! This is really amazing, it really helps me clarify what needs to be improved! DevRant is awesome!
-
@pascalwacker it's still in Beta. It's running on AngularJS 2, and the JS files are not merged into one file. Will work on that of course, thanks for the feedback!
-
@crackroach Thanks for the feedback. And yea I realize the review time is a pain-point as of right now, the long term goal is to pre-cache all product reviews, but that's only if the website picks up.
-
@mirnapls @pascalwacker Sorry guys, but the site loads a bit slow, especially on mobile (I need to put a loading icon or something). That's a bad UX on my part, will improve it.
-
@corscheid Thanks for the feedback!
-
@linuxxx Thanks!

Full stack web developer, Mac or any Linux based. My first 4 or 5 jobs required me to be on a Mac or Linux computer, so just got used to it.
