@asgs I always want it on battery saving mode. No point to have it not on battery saving mode. As soon as I take it off the charger it gets battery saver. I wish android had an option to always have battery saver on automatically. :/

@MadMadMadMrMim yeah but I can't personally invest in public transit and if I can't reliably get to work when they want to me there in person it's an issue. For the past 6 years since I got my license I've just shared cars with my parents, took buses, and skateboarded places - it just isn't possible in the city I'm living in now unfortunately.

@MadMadMadMrMim there is a bus but it's inconvient because it only comes once an hour and I have to walk a while to get to. I can do it until I get a car if I need to go into the office, but it isn't what I want to do long term.

@c3r38r170 there's no bike lanes or sidewalk and the road is 55 mph that goes from my house to my work. I don't think it'd work well.

@heyheni well considering I just moved to where I currently am for a job and I can no longer borrow my mom's car all the time, that isn't really an option.

@vigidis $450 was how much my current laptop cost cause I bought it used 😅 paying that much for a desk seems silly to me.

@vigidis one that adjusts on its own sounds really expensive. My current desk is a foldable table that was $40 at home Depot. I've been trying to find a desk I like for under $100 lately but it's hard. Everything has drawers and I don't like drawers or they're too small of a desk.

@vigidis I think I'd be even less focused in a standing desk. Like idk how people like to just stand or sit all day? Like I get bored of either in like 30 minutes. When I was at my retail jobs I'd get tired of standing and just sit on the ground somewhere. Dunno how no one cared about that but I got away with it. Now I get bored of sitting and pace around my apartment.

@MadMadMadMrMim I just feel like I do less when I have less on my plate. Like I want crazy deadlines cause then I'll actually do it. If you don't give me a deadline I'll work super slow and spend 4 hours of the workday on Twitter and tiktok because what's the point

@MadMadMadMrMim :/ I can't drink coffee because of the meds I'm on for epilepsy. Idk this is also my first office job I just started in April. I don't feel like i know what's going on. I think part of my issue is none of my projects have timed goals at the moment. My previous job to this was pickup at a grocery store. I'd just do nothing for 20 minutes then be frantically loading groceries into cars for an hour. There's no urgency. It just feels like it doesn't matter. I kind of miss mindless tasks and I think that's why I slip into doing things like cleaning my kitchen while I'm at work at home.

@heyheni I can get to my work without a car but it's a long bus ride. And I can walk to the grocery store. But anything else is rough to impossible. My partner has been giving me rides while I save up some for a down payment to a car loan.

Graduated with my computer science degree in Dec, we barely even touched LaTex. One professor mentioned it as a "I like this and it's somewhat useful. No you don't need to know it for the exam."

The funny part was those DVDs with anti piracy ads were insanely easy to make copies of. My mom would go to the library, get a DVD, and copy it so we could have it.

My plan B if I hate industry eventually is teach high school computer science. Doesn't pay as much but honestly it doesnt sound too bad.

I set timers. I have to do this thing for 45 min then 10 min break then do other thing. If I finish before timer great I let myself have a little longer break.

Almost everything is private on mine because I never complete side projects.
