I just lost a promotion because of this shit... they said I demoralize my coworkers with negative thinking even tho they agreed that the stuff I bring up are legit problems but I should work on the way I say it and think of a way that wouldnt hurt morale... Wtf does that mean? The problems raised arent even the current teams fault but the legacy codebase and inherited bad workflows and unreasonable deadline.

notion.so!
You get everythong you need.
tables, lists, mood boards, kanban, calendars, notifications, notes, pages, importing data from webpages, etc.
Android and iOS apps are awailable, windows and mac got desktop apps as well
The only downside is the data limit but you can have as many free workspaces as you want (like slack) and if you segment it well enough you wont run out of space any time soon. -
At work one of my pull request was literally denied because I used a do while loop (to terminate it if desired state was reached) instead of a map or forEach... They said it's more "functional programing" that way. The worst thing is one of them is the CTO of the client company and the project owner

your name is always too perfect for your stories...

DOT effect (fire, oil, poision)
basic movement (w/double joump and dash)
some mele weapons with effects like blood sword
some bombs
golden doors and powerup scrolls
3-4 basic enemies mostly from the prison floor (zombie, bombedier, shield guy and bomb bats) -
yeah! I even tried to implement most of the mechanics (while in early access) for one of my university assignments. It's a fun game but I can't get 5BC even if my life depends on it :D

I sort of fell in love with the daiquiri not so long ago so I am joining the rum drinking bandwagon too! Yay! 🍸

cli on linux fir simple stuff. sublime merge for merge conflicts and rebase, times when I need to see the log graph or need to resolve diffs. On windows I used GitExtension but if I were to code on windows I might go with sublime too because I can script and configure the hell out of it.

@galileopy and what are we waiting for?
-
@SortOfTested name checks out 😀
-
@PrivateGER, I did. You should read the comments before jumping to conclusions. I know what it does and why it does it but it's still a wierd line of code.
-
Oh I know full well why it does what it does... but still it's not a trivial mechanic even to seasoned JS developers.
You might call it quirky... -

Simple: There is not a single scenario where not writing a proper ticket is beneficial. Not in the short run, not in the long run. Most of the time it doesn't even saves time.
The hard part is making people understand and accept this. -
Ask if they want block chain in it, because then it might even take 15 minutes... to write your resignation letter.

@tits-r-us at this point I'm tempted to assemble an imternational dev-hitman group that would take on jobs to elliminate pesky management personel. might as well call it "avengers" for the hell of it. :D
I'm sure it would have a lot of clients :D -
I think you should just get away from that company and as fast as you can.
Not only did your rant frequency got really high from the moment you got the job but every single one of them is filled with management BS and unusable coworkers...
And with this one it might be possible that you will be the one made responsible for it because from what we heard may as well every one of them lie about not helping/reply for you.
It just really doesn't sound like a fun place to be -
@R1100 literal problems! :D my favorit one is:
- can you jump as high as a building
- ...?
- buildings cant really jump that high so yes! -
@netikras It's not a generational thing in a way you might think. It's not that the newer generations don't value experience or possibilities the learn and practice what they love to do. The problem is nowadays a lot more people go to IT not because they are interested in it but because they think it's easy money. Of course these guys wont go near you if they don't get paid for it.
But there are still many of us in the current generation who think of our jobs as our hobbies and we will sacrifice our time even if its for free if we aren't dependent on that money to put food on the table. But yeah its still sad that there are so few of us at least where im from and went to uni. -
For 2x speed you got 2 options: 30fps rendering that skips every second frame from source, or render in 60fps which means render every frame but for half the time.
Skipping frames will obviusly get you a worst experience, right? Wrong! Well at least not every time.
Because anime (or any other animation) most of the time is drawn in 2s (12 frame + 12 duplicate in 24frame) or even higher they achieve 30fps by repeating some frames.
So a lot of times skipping frames or rendering them for less time creates the same output.
But even with that if you can you should choose to set the refresh rate higher instead of frame skipping because anime usually change how many frames are drawn in a second. And you should definetly use 60fps if you watch the Fate series because they most of the time animate on 1s and its silky smooth. (Ufotable and its Unlimited Budget Works) -
Isn't this a codingame.com challenge?

📌 for picture!

@bittersweet I can agree with the crazy plot lines.. there are quite a few, maybe too many and this is one of the reason for its reputation.
but I'm certain that if you tell us what kind of genre or theme you are interested in other types of media like movies or series we can give you at least one anime/manga that you will enjoy and wont be too weird or crazy for you! -
oh I know a guy like this.. but he's actually worst. He didn't even known what homebrew is until I showed him...
-
Maintainability is only an issue if they can't afford to hire someone as good as you or at least close enough. Which means you are overqualified and underpaid and at that point you better look for a new job...
-
I have the perfecr image for you!
-
I'm just gonna download this to never ever use it in the future... neat
-
Okay... but why?
-
@irene well.. what do you say if said vs code is armed with bunch of plugins/packages that allows you to build, test and debug your code. Is it still a text editor or is it closer to an IDE at that point?
I too think that vs code, sublime and such are editors by default but you can set them up in a way with plugins that makes them closer to an IDE, sometimes even better because only the features that you use will be installed. (sadly none of my workflows can be realised with plugins I found but there are some features that are better implemented by some third party plugin than the IDE I use) -
stealing jokes from linkedin!? we are scraping the bottom of the barrel... oh well I still give ++ because I know David :D
