@brunofontes all phone numbers in American movies begin with 555 - because it's not actually a valid prefix!
-
Rant at +666...cant bring myself to break that by adding another ++!

@AlexDeLarge and POWAA!

A new level...

Looks great! For posture your laptop screen should be raised too.
I'm looking forward to the day when visual input is fed directly to our occipital lobes! -
Code a chatbot? :-P
-
The sad thing is, by the time that kid gets to our age Javascript, css, and HTML will probably be obsolete!
-
This is what happens to those kids whose parents spend their entire time telling them they are special snowflakes and they are brilliant at everything. Sometimes you just gotta say "Billy, you tried really hard at this and I'm proud of you for that. But unless you're determined and willing to put in thousands of hours of hard work, maybe you should go back to flower arranging."

@charlwillia6 I've not seen that, I'll look into it thx. One of the big things I'm thinking about is having an ongoing mentor. Just ideas tho :-)
-
@sylflo yeah im thinking it's probably be a website, with features for posting and commenting on code.
-
Thanks I'll look into sololearn and see what it offers.
I think a big part of the mentoring would be teaching people how to find the answers for themselves. But there's a lot more to it, like looking at the code someone writes and suggesting improvements and different approaches. -
Wayyyyy back in the day I remember doing something in vba using ByRef and ByVal. It confused the shit out of my colleagues! I was pretty surprised to find vba supported it too.
Ah man, that was a long old time ago! -
Triple the speed of a Pentium...

@620hun @theScientist I believe to be called a psychologist you must complete postgraduate training, either to register as a chartered psychologist or to become a clinical psychologist. You could also complete a doctorate to register as a counselling psychologist. As I understand it, the accredited undergraduate degree only gives Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC). I think the only "psychologist" role available with may an undergraduate is Assistant Psychologist, although it is highly recommended that you complete postgraduate training for that too as it's insanely competitive!
I have a BSc in Psychology (with professional experience), but got frustrated at the cost and competition to go further with the career. -
I like @Tasperen 's idea. Delete the entire website, then send him an email saying "done. No one can copy our design now."
-
I completely gave up on AVD. I'm only learning at the moment so I don't need to test on different devices. One day I'll have to face it though.
-
I use Notepad++ for everything anyway!
-
@jaaywags called metaRant?
-
I agree with the above comments but also to answer your question just search for: android app hider
There are a bunch of solutions, most require your device be rooted but a couple work without.
Alternatively you could use the website but you would miss a lot of functionality. -
@sheriffderek in this instance it was a personal time project (actually part of the course in doing to learn android development). Still, I'm sure I learned something from the experience...
-
@TerriToniAX if another person tries to cloak some bullshit shitty task with the phrase "professional development" I swear I will swing for them!
You know what really helps me develop? Actually doing my job, which brings about different challenges every day for me to overcome. Our even better... Give me time to pursue my own projects and learning! But what does nothing at all for me is doing that stupid fucking boring waste of time shitty task that probably doesn't actually need to be done at all or could be done by someone who is genuinely so fresh that they actually would learn something from it. The first time. -
We got this so often where I used to work that we used to take our estimate add a day or two, then add another 50%.
-
She's a keeper!

There was a proof of concept of that a while back with rfid security cards. You swipe over someone's wallet (disguise it as bumping into them or otherwise conceal it), take the Sara and crack it, then you had to bump again and you were able to clone the card.
-
@nin0x03 @ddephor I propose a joint project. May involve some kidnapping ;-)
-
Dors that mean an unimportant post that's not a rant would be
!rant!!important ? -
I've always wondered with these... You know those sparking gas hob lighters? Would the rfid device short out if you put that up to your skin and jolted yourself?
