Also, it costs money. :)) I sonehow feel that any free software that has remotely close functionality to a paid app, is a goodone, that being said, I have 3 office suites installed and I know shit that's wrong with any of them.
-
The smaller ones always have the biggest hearts, cue *awwww(s)* ;)

@irene, @Root, Do you happen to know any audiobooks regarding programming? Is that even a thing? Since I'm working 8hrs/day, I might as well use one of my senses in that direction :D
-
:(: to you too, brother!
-
@irene @root, I can vouch for the energy thing, it might not be instant or short term but exercising does help, pretty much with everything and anything. Regarding stimulants, that's kind of true, I mean I usually drink coffee just to equalise the rest of my body with how I feel I should be.
-
@Santaclauze I tried audiobooks but they are a bit boring, I am more of a visual stimulus kind of person, multiple screens do help and music in the background but it has to be ambiental but not too loud but not too silent either.
-
@Root Hmm, ok, I am doing that most of the times, sometimes it works sometimes not so much. What kind of stimulants? I drink a bit of dark coffee every now and then, anything else?
-
@irene I like the hard truth, tbh, being highly rational myself, that's what I rationalised myself, you know what the bigger/biggest problem is? I'm not much more motivated doing anything else and I'm not ready to accept that I'm worthless, just yet. But I do enjoy coding, I genuinely do, heck, I might be even good at it, based on how fast I catch on to things, it's just that it's so god damn hard to start and continue going.
-
@steaksauce I also work, am in a relationship, if I had the motivation, I would probably have around 3-4hrs of decent time to spend on stuff I want to spend on, I usually end up wanting to do stuff right before bed...which sucks.
-
@JMoodyFWD I think I might have ADD, not 100% sure tho. My dad suspected it but we're not really the consuming meds by the handful type. Thx for the advice, I'll try it, I usually have double screens at least for having something on the other one so that I don't bore myself.

I personally have a really bad opinion about the US, of course due to certain regulations the country trives but the average person, omg, the average person seems absolutely oblivious to what the world is/what's actually happening in the world and don't even get me started on the individualism. No wonder Trump won with his BS agenda, no wonder they/you still have a bi-partidic system, thank God for American tech and freedom but it's defo not suitable for every and each individual.
-
I got 404 problems but a laptop ain't one!
-
@helloworld dunno bro, I'm a very chill and calm person. Why rush with the claps!?
-
@helloworld slow clap
-
I see a lot of "my code use to suck" posts, is that visually speaking, functionality, optimisation or all? I'm relatively newbie and to me a working code = good code. (I know about some of the conventions of good code writing, that's why I am curious of the reasoning of most posts).
-
You can't.
-
Do you even JAngular, bro?
-
Hahahaha...this is quite a nice dose of sincerity from an evil corp <3
-
@CallbackHell I don't know your parents but I'm pretty sure they are humans and guess what? They too make mistakes, I think parents have their role but when you feel otherwise, follow your instincts.
-
Modify any html page, show them and you're done.
-
@Brolls I'm sure that if you're looking into people who have had bad experiences with coming out, it's due to crappy people who care about them only through the prism of their sexuality, which is bad, therefore shitty people. Same thing applies the other way around. Qualitative people don't care about your gender, color, anything else but what you can bring to the table. That's how I feel it.
-
@Kodnot Yea, sort of but wouldn't you agree that we, as a developer community (which is how this whole thing is defined) should be more interested in factual/technological issues, this just has the word developer in it and everything else is LGBT. I'm sure there are lgbt devs out there and their experience is similar to op, it's part of the social classification. Anyhow, I particularly dislike people seeking attention and unfortunately members of the LGBT community are quite good at that. I wouldn't say I'm old here but this is one of the divisional posts I have seen, even apple vs theWorld is usually less volatile than most communities.
-
@Brolls you want to be gay and a dev? Good, you do that! While at it, be the best dev ever, make this world a better place! I have friends and acquaintances who are LGBT, we became friends because of what we shared not because of what differentiated us, their sexual orientation doesn't matter. Also, regarding your question if there are other gay devs, I'm sure there are, probably doing more productive work than you and I right now!
-
@Kodnot triggered? Not by a long shot, I'm as calm as possible and I'm quite tolerant, I don't dislike any races/sexual orientations/genders, I'm quite capable of understanding everyone's particularities but what I do dislike is attention seeking/whoring and wasting people's time with your false problems while people are dying of hunger/violence/war/cancer/anything.
-
Saying X is not diverse because Y group doesn't want to do it is such a stupid and unproductive thing to do, this world will never be 25% white 25% black 25% asian 25% lgbt or whatever you/anyone else wants it to be, it's gonna be exactly how everything this, you want do X fucking do X instead of wasting your time that population Y is unrepresented. Have you seen women/straight men complain about the best clothes designers/chefs or any other artistic branch being dominated by gay men? I haven't, know why? Cause the do not fucking care and if they did care, they would just do that instead of complaining about it. Are you gay? Good for you? Are you a dev? Even better! Will you start socially dissecting the world cause it's now what you want and think that's what other people want? With that, I have a problem. I don't go around asking people who eat spicy why they do it just because I know spicy food is unrepresented in Europe or some shit, that would be a waste of time and stupid.

@xewl somehow that's in the name but if JS' creator is not an anagram of JavaScript your example does nothing for this topic. Acronyms are fun man, it's like a puzzle.
-
@Aitkotw my phone is 3 years old, no warranty whatsoever and all those sound good to me. Where do I start?
-
@usethedocsluke well, pretty much any question except "can you do shit? If yes, show us" is useless, it's a social contract.
-
@usethedocsluke I mean organisational culture has a lot to do with stuff, knowing who created JS really helps no1 with nothing.
-
It's always 3 am.
