Happy birthday! 🎉

It's different for everyone. As @GrizzlyMagnum said, the hardest part is landing your first job. Once you do that, things get a lot easier.
Without a portfolio, it's incredibly hard to be taken seriously. Your best bets are to try 100 Days of UI and publicly share your results, or ask around your family and friends. Word of mouth is key.
I started by creating a complete product for my Computer Science A-Level coursework, and I've managed to get several local schools wanting it for a nice annual subscription. Then, one school liked my product so much that they wanted me to make them a tracker app, and so on.
I really wish you the best of luck. I've been trying to get off my feet for many years and only recently has it taken off. Stick with it! -
@mmcorreia yeah it was a Twitter not called TayTweets. Just Google Image search that (at your own risk!) to see what it ended up saying... 😂
-
@crisz completely the same with me. Atom was good for a few days but it struggled later, Sublime for me is always fast and responsive.
-
@Bacontaskmaster ++ for Rick and Morty 😂
-
Probably because they know they'll get tons of clicks and active users whether they have it or not! They'll be pushed to use it the more Chrome and Firefox push this 'not secure' thing with non HTTPS sites. ☺
-
Damn this is cool! I'd love to do this stuff
-
Oh god what have I started! 😂
-
@Draxes potentially, although I'm pretty sure he meant JS. If he did actually mean Java then I wouldn't really want to do that course anyway!
-
@PetriJ I find it quite believable - the amount of attention this website gets is insane! If you can grab people's attention you're pretty much golden!
-
@linuxxx ah sorry, I don't really keep up with Firefox. Glad they're pushing it too though!
-
@linuxxx I definitely agree with you! SSL is becoming incredibly important even for basic sites with Chrome now branding sites without it as 'not secure'!
-
I liked it, but it unfortunately couldn't replace Chrome for me yet, although I can't really explain why. I loved the customisability, but it doesn't just feel 'complete' enough yet. 😂
-
@linuxxx this is a good point, or you can always use CloudFlare for free SSL if your host doesn't like LetsEncrypt
-
This would have actually been useful for me. I have an alarm to get me up for 9am on weekends but for the last three weeks I've had to get up at 4 for a three hour travel to a university every Saturday. This would have let me ignore the alarm without having to disable it and forgetting to reenable it! Unfortunately I have an iPhone so it's all or nothing 😪😂
-
Don't forget the printer!
-
Congratulations!

4. The IT Crowd ☺
-
@Shonen wait they are?! How did I not realise this! I just assumed they were required!
-
Really nice job with this! Incredibly impressive how it groups the most popular keywords - this is very useful and straight to the point. I searched for Moto 360 and the first negative keyword that appeared was 'battery' - I can vouch for that!
A few things you could do to improve general SEO and stuff would be to add a head title (currently just says diducheck.com for me) and a few fav icons.
Great design, love the use of big images and the like. My only other nit-pick would be to add a footer just to show the user that this is the end of the page - I initially thought I was waiting on something to load with Ajax or whatever!
All in all though, incredibly nice site! Well done!
