I've seen it on a screen at the entrance of the company next door. Like every day around lunchtime for at least a week.
At least it wasn't outside on the building. -
I know people would wonder about that, but they won't say it outright. So, yes, this is staged.
-
Don't be lonely #girlcoder You're not alone.
Honestly I don't code/program that often -
Or... Everything downloaded on my device.
No, if you do get that, you definitely won't be able to do your job. -
They need
"Access to everything in the system" -
Good point. Really good point.
-
Umm... Users can't use the technology?
-
I've enjoyed CodeSchool and Coursera the best.
-
Now *that* is user error.
-
Just forward it to your mom and Dad. That's 10 people.
-
Lol
-
And sure,
etc... -
Are you for real?
-
You got me on the 5 more minutes. I pressed snooze like 5 or 6 times before I got up this morning.
-
Should I deploy the day before Christmas? How about deploying in the US on the 4th of July?
-
I don't get it
-
Chances are, either:
1. They took it from someone else
2. It's Wordpress -
Think about how much fun it would be to be the dev that makes their dream come true.
Not. -
I used to love me some Yanni songs when programming. Especially World Dance, Santorini, Nostalgia, Standing in Motion, Rainmaker. It's also easier to concentrate when there is no strong vocalist interrupting your train of thoughts.
Of course you can always go to rock music or screamo if you're trying to stay awake but it's harder to concentrate on the code. -
Interesting. I haven't had a major complaint about Windows 10. Only minor things about how slowly Microsoft responds to users' requests but that's really not OS specific. I've had a pretty seamless experience with Windows 10 overall.

I love my boss and we have a great working environment. I'd like to get more time off based on how many extra hours I work, but all in all it's a good working situation.
But I'm still curious where you work, and if there are job openings ;) -
I haven't used Java in some time, but to me the Java libraries are not very intuitive. And things like converting strings to numbers is a lot more roundabout process than I think is necessary.
I think what stood in my way more often than not when it comes to Java is that I think command A should be able to do such and such instead of having to combine commands A, B, and C in this particular format to get it done. -
No way.
Although I've seen similar things happen. Gotta love IT Support -
With what I've got
-
It's not a dumb question; it just plays on the VP's ego and worries to magnify an otherwise small chance of incidents.
-
I've seen it happen; yes this stuff is for real
-
@h3ll I know a company's website that has a colored marquee. Yes I just checked. It's still there to this day. The company really likes the web designer.
Blech. -
Try doing tech support over the phone for people that do that.
Of course they don't tell you about the error until they've closed out of it, put the device away, and are driving to their next destination which is 4 hours away.
You never hear back from them. -
@kevbost I know how that feels. In a previous job I did the whole setting requirements, deliverables, and closure criteria for the project at the beginning... But because the people on the project were non-technical they never felt like I delivered quite what they had in mind although I had fulfilled every criterion specified.
At some point you just do what you can and make sure you have solid, authoritative answers for when they ask you. That's all you can do. -
The moment when you receive a 2-line answer to a long email that took you a whole hour to write.
