@iceb Thanks for the answer!
The codebase is an absolute mess and people seem to get offended by pointing it out (not so harsh) and seem to hate change, so I kinda gave up -
@IntrusionCM Thank you for the answer.
Under normal circumstances that would be absolutely the way to go, however im using Gitlab Pages to host a page with a SSG (just a toy project) and to have any compression at all, the static files have to compresed already thats why I can't do it the "normal" way -
It doesn't need to happen if the deploy stage is not needed but it somehow feels like the responsibility of the build
-
Clients are the worst
-
I don't like it as well. Not because of the performance but the pushy shills from MS.
- after a windows update i can't remove Edge from my Taskbar (without going into the registry)
- the browser performance comparison graphic is just plain manipulative
- Being forced to that news site if you don't configure it otherwise
- the Integration with Bing is just plain annoying (yes not only on Edge)
So it could have the best performance I'd still never use it. -
i want this so bad o.o
-
@heyheni there were other people casually at the office 😄
It's just his hypocrisy that is really annoying me. There were similar events ticking me off like him not attending dailies when he doesn't feel like it and not telling anyone - so we wait for a few minutes if he'll show up etc.
I mean even if you got meetings that are more important - at least let us know. -
@sariel great. Glad im not overreacting by refusing to come into the office anymore.
-
They're the same picture
-
Had to write a few configs.. one of the rare times where the meme "it works, but i don't know why" was relatable.
-
@Scriptero how tho
-
This + working with a team of ~5 people.
I don't like being the only dev in a project. -
I like to listen to lofi when i do things where i have to focus.
For trivial tasks id put on more engaging music -
Im in this meme and i don't like it
-
@iiii Well as you said it does on paper and some of the things make sense (like being able to request the deletion of your data) but like @hobblin said, for some small businesses the cost is just not worth it, especially since those laws change often and some people don't want to deal with that.
I also think its ridiculous to request an imprint on everything (from personal blogs to simple Youtube channels) and making those cookie notice popups mandatory is just plain annoying to me. But thats just my opinion -
I also like the error handling in Go, it can get verbose quickly but i think Go isn't about writing the most elegant code but about stability and consistence.
I also like that things don't get too abstract like in Java/C# where im struggling even finding the concrete implementation of one of the many interfaces. (If i have to debug someone elses codebase) -
The only bad thing about tech are clients
-
You are on the right path to be forgotten by the company but still receive a salary. Keep it up!
-
@SortOfTested Thank you, I actually did that, but I feel in order to really understand it (especially how to purposefully use rxjs) I have to build a small app with it that goes a bit beyond the usual todo list :)
-
@SortOfTested Unfortunately there is barely enough budget on the project for me to figure out how to hack some features together. I was told updating the PHP version would break the whole thing and I should not do it. Being employed as a TypeScript and C# dev this spaghetti code is driving me nuts
-
@bigus-dickus thanks you, unfortunately as far as I can tell, the Jira REST-API supports only RSA-SH1 encoded signatures =/
-
I also like to live dangerously. But this goes too far
-
@24th-Dragon no the App needs to be working offline (switching to an internal API if there is no Internet connection, they want one app that works on Android, iOS and as a WebApp + is maintainable no idea how to pull it off yet).
Thank you for your suggestions :) -
I've been trying to make an rn app with expo and injecting react components into it, but seems that there is no way to do this.
Have been thinking about running a webserver on the phone to serve the web app but thats seems too insane for something that should (at least i think it should) be relatively simple. -
@Kimmax fight me
-
(on a decent server)
-
It was a rhetorical question because a npm install just took 26min
-
Not sure, I will Check tomorrow.
I've stumbled upon an issue stating that it is a known docker for windows limitation that file changes are not detected inside of a Docker container...thats why i wanted to know if anyone got it to work.

I was actually trying to make a docker Image to build the whole project.
I do realize that it is mainly my fault because im not really familiar with .NET but i just had to rant about it lol -
How does that even happen😂
