Unlike when there is no Corona, you dont eat sleep code repeat? :p

@bittersweet no one bats an eye if your sql query is a bit messy or not super performant (to some extend) But if your html is not EXACTLY how it is in the design in 5milion browsers and resolutions, you have the client all over you. Also because you can see it, (non knowledgable) people tend to have an opinion.
I wrote both backend and frontend code. But I like backend more because its my own domain where I can easily create utilities and refactor stuff. Css is often to implementation specific to have more than just the basic kitchensink/grid utilities. -
If a DevRant dev could rant on DevRant about DevRant the DevRant dev would rant on DevRant about DevRant

So you’re healthy, in good shape, have social interactions and interest by the opposite sex, a paying job and time for a hobby.
Seems horrible :p -
Reminds me when I was refreshing the staging environment instead of my local dev server for an hour

1mb alarm app, the rest advertisements and private data collecting

Could you explain why charging to max 85% increases lifespan? Is that for lead irin batteries or lithium? And why wouldnt manifacturers build in that feature by default
-
Update all wordpress/drupal/joomla plugins and watch the world burn
-
Even working on a old system you could add an abstraction layer. For instance if you work with an old SOAP or telnet client, build a rest api on top of it and let the other systems use that api

‘You cant deliver a baby in 1 month?’ You did it before, dont you have reusable limbs lying around? What if you use this plugin iKnife I found when I googled ‘how to deliver a baby’. You should make delivering babies reusable, everbody does it. Its not hard, my cousin next door also delivers babies waaaaaay cheaper

I’d expect it would open a Crud interface to create a new phone or update, or delete someone elses, and list all the phones in the world
-
So room for improvement that you can bring to the table and be highly appreciated?

@theKarlisK we had to be pci compliant even though we dont store or handle payments, we’d only send them to a PSP. It was more a trust issue and for future prospects then anything else.
-
Also youll need to be PCI compliant if you store certain payment info

You either meet up this week or not. I only read excuses. So what if the weather is bad, just meet up, decide together what to do, even if its dropping in the nearest coffee bar and spent 30min.
I mean writing this 100 step essay probally took atleast an hour. An hour you could go to her.
If you and her dont have time now, it either means that both of you dont have time to even sustain the relationship after the date, let alone just date. Or the priorities are such that you two dont value eachother more important than the other tasks.
Another tip, dont make the girl special. I think everyone is like that when they are young (and desperate) but a relationship happens without much effort. Sometimes its not ment to be -
Fear of missing out. On the otherhand its always good to improve oneself or innovate as a company. Using a hobby project or a case thats not entirely needed is the ideal playground.
But they shlould reversed the question ‘we are interested in AI, we dont know if its usefull, bur we’re curious’
Or you a senior dev should not shut the idea down and ask why the want AI and if you know a better fit. Now you are irrirated and so are they -
Isnt it the point not defeating the users, other wise you might not be a user? A bot would complete it at the speed of light
-
Are you sure its the client? Not a designer that decided to include some page block/button to fill up a space he felt was a tad empty? Happens almost everytime. At the. End of the design process, we have more features that we started with

Just use iso8601 (yyyy-mm-dd)

Documentation on frontend projects? Never seen that. Theres implicit documentation like tests, proptypes or the usage of typescript. Sometimes a bit more in the form of a kitchensink or storybook for some basic components.
Ive seen api docs or docs for clients how to configure stuff in the backoffice or even technical/architectual docs how in a greater scheme stuff works.
In my experience, whatever documentation a frontender would write, would either be to simple, out of date, or to much yargon. Try describing a form, hiw it works in a general sense (redux/state management) and then in detail about the validations, and then even deeper how the datepicker works and which props are needed. That alone would be weeks of documenting, so 1 newcomer can save a day digging through code -
“You shouldnt ask me why I want to leave, you should convince me why I should join you guys” also nothing is eternal. Eating in a michelin star restaurant everyday would bore. So Im ready for something new. Remember I had foise gras for breakfast, what do you guys offer

Imagine a mini computer, on which you can install an OS (no virtualisation though) and let it perform tasks. For example you link a volume of docker to a folder on your pc and you can let it run npm install, build, copy files to www folder and start a node server. Its sandboxed so you dont have to have node or other dependencies, just docker. We share our frontend end webserver with our testers and po without having to upload to an online server. I can run a Laravel website with mysql, php, phpmyadmin etc on a windows machine without jnstalling anything. Its awesome

Rather than estimating what the client wants, give them what he/she is willing to spent.

What does Edge do? The same as chrome?

@Brolls ‘cowboy coding’ implies the developer was doing bad stuff, but Ill bet ya that the fault can be found in managing expectations and correct analysis/setting up requirements. I remember working on a 6 week project for over a year, and then afterwards I had to explain why there were so much hours put into it. While the managers added a new feature every day on our scrum backlog that they got from the client. I reckoned they monitored the scope....

Read weekly newsletters (javscriptweekly amd reactweekly), listen to code conventions podcasts, read up in discord about new development of react and such

Its also on Ip and words you say (no conspiracy, look it up). So perhaps someone using the same work ip does it :p or you talk a lot about it

Press ‘update all plugins’ on every wordpress, drupal and joomla website and then kiss the boss on the mouth and smack him on the buttocks while calling him ‘my daddy’ followed by a naked streeking through the building while teambagging my collegeas :)

Its usually because of porting. A console game runs at 30fps. So they render the cutscenes at 30fps. Afterwards they want to port it to pc, but cant be bothered to re-rendering all the cutscenes... And perhaps filesize plays a part (half the fps means half the megabytes)

Tip: use the tools option in google and limit results to just last year
