I've really tried with DuckDuckGo, but any time I have to look something up quickly, I default to Google. Their search is just better.9

In the royal city of Aagra. My phone broke and knowing the exploitative bitch I used to meet back then I was certain had I disappeared amid a conversation she would break up with me, so I debugged an Android 2.3 image with no documentation and shaky hands from frustration while cursing her every family member in Hungarian. (Passers-by probably thought I was casting spells on my computer)20

I am about to fire this client.
I can't take any more of this abject fucking stupidity.
I can't take any more sentence fragment responses to detailed questions and thorough responses.
I can't take any more expectations that I deliver consistent metadata and hundreds of pages of documentation, yet no one else has to do the same
I can't take any more rules only applying to/hamstringing me and my team
I can't take any more fucking gross incompetence and grossly undereducated shitfucks that get to send ridiculous bills and have 0 accountability while playing developer
I can't take any more obviously nepotistic and racist hiring that walks back every step of progress we've made in the last 50 years
I can't take not being able to call a spade a spade and being the villain when there's obvious graft occuring at every level
I can't take these old fucks padding their retirements while rendering everyone else contractors and cutting off opportunity for future generations
I can't take how absurdly, blisteringly stupid the business people are, or the fact that one average project managers with a recent PMI cert somehow bills what I do
I'm 100% going to drop dime on these fucks to every regulatory body they are beholden to, their investors, their corporate owners and USCIS, since I've already doxxed the shit out of all of my coworkers that don't remotely qualify for the positions they occupy.5 -
First wikipedia asks me donation. Then tells me facts 98% Indians do not donate. And when I try to donate, it doesn't let me donate without PAN. I am a student.6

Running code in a JVM ... which is a virtual machine...
Inside a VM that runs Linux...
Inside a host OS that runs on native...which runs on a CISC processor... that internally runs a RISC architecture... so that makes the CISC a VM...
The RISC architecture I am pretty sure runs on Elf Magic... I am fairly certain Turing was an Elf working for Santa...
So I am really running my code on VM Elf Magic9 -
Software tester here. Developers what do you think about us honestly? Do you enjoy testers who point out bugs directly or are we a pain in the ass? I feel like developers appreciate my work. I can ask them questions and they are happy I can point out flaws in the app directly. It's also fun to do as a temporary job now.17

Dude, for the hundredth time, stop leaving random chunks of commented out code all over the place in case we "need to find it easily later"...
This is literally the reason we use git.
No, I will not pass it in a code review. The same as last time. And the time before...

Our best dev/arch just quit.
C dev lead & a dev staying late chatting.
Lead: am building, takes long
Dev: unit testing, time taking
Ask them y they r building on their latitudes when we got them linux precision with xeons/64gb workstation 1 each ?
Both: I code on latitude.
Build/test times. (pure Java/maven)
Latitudes=an hr or more
Precision=2m to 11m
Jenkins Infra we have =10 mins with test & push. Parallel builds support.
Am suposed to help with an open mind. They now want Mac pro12 -
How do you guys deal with reviewing garbage code?
Do you waste a ton of time, trying to understand the code, so you can write constructive feedback?
Today I wasted 4 hours reviewing something like that and I'm still not finished.10 -
Anyone else have trigger words that make them excited about programming?
I can come home from a full day of work, hear the word "append" or "include" and then instantly want to down an energy drink do another 8 hours.5 -
Last week
Customer: I want <totally useless app idea that already exists>, how long will it take to build it?
Me: I think such an app already exists, but according to your requirements I believe we could finish it around May 6th.
Customer: OK, but our app will be so much better.
-finishes meeting and signs contract-
Monday
Customer: will the app be done soon?
Me: as we discussed in the meeting last week, it won’t be done until May 6th.
Tuesday
Customer: will the app be done soon, when will it be in the app stores?
Me: As I explained yesterday, it won’t be finished before May 6th.

I was watching this fantastic talk on coding through refactoring:
https://m.youtube.com/watch/...
Highly recommended....
And it got me all enthusiastic about coding again and then I realised, at my last work place, the "we value code quality" corporate hellhole you'd be criticised for taking too long by management and for changing too much code by coworkers.
And a month later, you'd come back to the code and some other coworker would have jammed in a bunch of extra if statements and absolutely fucked your nice structure....1 -
So it's 2020 and still no native RTL support in 'modern' text editors or 'modern' web frameworks/libraries.
I'm looking at you sublime text and bootstrap.9 -
If coding is fun then your job (Backend Developer) should be fun right?
No.
You have to setup projects which isn't fun.
You have to setup tools which isn't fun.
You have to write unit tests which isn't fun.
You have to learn to use some frameworks which may not be fun.6 -
Will any of the AWS certifications help in getting a devops role ? Also, what would be the learning path for someone looking to get a job as a devops engineer? Any help is greatly appreciated.5

Our university will have a fancy laser lab with a direct fiberoptic connection to the most accurate atomic clock 200km away.
But the online system still cant handle more than few 1000 students trying to check their grades/plan...5 -
On the top of a mountain, while skiing, -6 °C, no gloves, on my phone.
I use a live wallpaper I made with Processing and it uses gps location and forecast datas to change the background image according to the environment and climate. It sucks and drains battery like a bitch, and as soon as I got the top of the mountain it fucked up everything, home screen froze and camera wouldn't open.
So guess what, it was debug time. Hands dead cold and APDE with no autocomplete on a smartphone keyboard. The agony.
My gf yelled at me and after 10 minutes I switched to a static wallpaper, uninstalled that one and never touched it again since then2
