Nope,, never had that issue.. Coffee! I average 4 cups an hour before lunch,,
Although, these days I'd happily switch that to whiskey.. Yeah, shit be rough.. -
Decided that I have to do it in person, so I will, on Monday, probably..
I did send it to a friend of mine, asking her to stop me if it was REALLY stupid, she didn't reply until now,, but she did agree that it was the best way for me to move forward, under the circumstances.. -
@MrCSharp @bioDan @bartmr
If you're curious,, I have an update,, kinda..
Tldr; nothing has really happened, but something will..
I've sort of taken your advice, all of them.. Make a move, let it go, tell her to keep things professional.. Sounds wierd right?
This morning I wrote her a text; (the gist translated)
(Bla bla bla intro)
- I like you, a lot, very much. I have so for some time, and my feelings grow stronger every time I get to know you closer.. And I've gotten to the point where I needed to know if the feeling is mutual, so I can let go & move on..
(Bla bla bla, not effect work,, bla bla)
I waited a few hours before I sent it, just to think it over, then I sat with my finger on the send button for an hour (heart racing) then I couldn't sent it..
(Continues in next comment) -
@bartmr but,, that's what we're doing now,, basically.. but as friends. Taking it from the "as friends" part,, I have now idea how..
-
@bartmr I get what you're saying,, but we are kinda past that initial getting to know each other stage.. As I said we do meet outside work, and don't talk shop at all, we were out just the other night, eating, drinking beer, talking for hours..
But you are right, maybe I should suggest to do something during the weekend.. I'm just terrible at coming up with something.. -
Tough love.. Discuss problem A, how would you solve it, or go about it. Ignore problem X, that is not your problem.. And helping them deeper in the hole doesn't help anyone..
Also tell them, before writing a single line of code, they should have a clear understanding of the solution they want, if it seams too complicated, it probably is.. And by doing this, you never end up with problem X..
Yes, I've had this issue,, way too many times 🤦♂️ -
If you're on Linux, and have some ops know-how, docker is a fucking godsend! And if you're not on Linux, You're probably a pixelpoker or stupid, either way, docker is not for you.. #toughlove
Edit; sorry, there is a third alternative,, you haven't discovered the awesomeness of Linux yet.. -
I lost faith a long time ago.. Most of my job at the moment is fixing things that someone else (usually juniors) fucked up,, In a platform that was fucked to begin with..

In a while it will be like:
Me: *coding peacefully*
Me: *remembers budget, meetings, that bug boss asked about, time to go home to family*
Me: *coding stressfully*, *running to catch train home*
Me: *coding stressfully on train since it is only 40 minutes* -
@IdolWotaP yeah, kinda, I just found out a week ago :) https://docs.docker.com/develop/...

Quick tip, check out multi step dockerfiles.. Depends on what you are doing of course, but in my case I can do the build in one step, then copy the artifacts to the other step.. My end image is about 3mb, all included :D
