@JhonDoe yeah buddy it's three layers deep in some spots
-
@tekashi European? Yeah nah, I'm from STRAYA 😉
-
@Alice it's an oversimplification but basically it encoded it when it shouldn't; causing it break everything.
-
@GodHatesMe yes, my code sucks because I used tabs.
Sounds legit. -
@RTRMS do you think that it is possible for node to be changed in a way that helps show more specific errors when the module fails to do so?
-
@RTRMS that's exactly what I'm bitching about dude. That if the node module doesn't have an exception built for that particular error then you'll get a non specific error message thrown. Today it was webpack last week it was something else. You may not think that it's node's problem and you may be right however other languages handle this problem a lot better
-
@RTRMS "I've never had that problem therefore it doesn't exist."
Well idgaf if you 'believe' me or not you wank.
It's attitudes like that which give devs a bad name -
@AliSawari hey dude, this is a safe place for ranters. We come here to let out our frustration.
And I guess you're living in lucky land. I've experienced quite a lot of node modules that spit out non specific error messages. It's frustrating and having to trial and error everything is annoying. Yes I know which module is causing the problem but why? Is it a dependency? It doesn't say. Maybe you work with node module that have better exceptions. -
@k0pernikus ahh selenium, my old friend. Yes it's cool but when you're building a new feature I prefer a browser where I can watch everything happen and make tweaks as I go
-
@teganburns 😂 I'm pretty sure the minified js generated by the extension is one line too.
I'd like to see you write something legible in one line that fills out forms so they will actually validate?
#jqueryislife -
@vector300 I wish it was that simple but they've completely re-written it 😢 I'll have to write it from scratch after figuring out their new methods and so far I can't see an easy hack
-
@W1ckeD mate, your logic is fucked.
I am not chill, you're fucking on point there but otherwise you're just being a sooky social warrior with a pretty shitty cause. You can't even pick the right post to bitch to. There are plenty out there hating on your precious -
@W1ckeD mate you missed the bloody point.
Actually, you proved my point, by being a butthurt little fanboy who couldn't even handle someone telling you to chill.
No one here was hating on your language mate, take your fight elsewhere -
Universities are dying in their current form. They don't teach you what you need to know and they literally tell us (the hiring squad) nothing. Most people hiring these days know that it's not about the degree but about the portfolio/employment history. You'd be surprised how many people who show up to an interview with a uni degree fail the most basic of tests I give them.

@nitaj96a fibreglass is a reinforced plastic used in surfboards and helps you surf the waves
Fibre optics is used for internet and helps you surf the web.
I see how one makes the confusion. -
Absolutely! Just send me your username and password so I can link up the account for you ;)

I found some anti viruses and programs can have hidden log files that take up gigs over time. Usually in the root directory. Show hidden files if they aren't already.
From memory I've had the problem with kaspersky and a homebrewed app -
Second attempt got the number as the time 😂
-
@jirehstudios you're correct. It's an ottoman pouf 😎
-
@jirehstudios a pouf is a type of cushion 😉

@harambae re: debugging, it sounds like you just need to set things up properly or use a decent framework that does that stuff for you.
Otherwise you're just bitching about semantics and personal preference. -
Use gulp and browsify/vueify. There are a few tutorials on it. Shouldn't take more than 5mins to setup
-
@yusijs 😂 I rest my case
-
If a junior came up and asked me that about one of our sites I'd probably rage and tell them off for not doing something productive.
If it's not broken and doesn't need the change then don't bother. Like you're literally wasting company time on useless crap that'll probably end up costing you more time in bugs.
Also if they're using jQuery 1.2 chances are you'll need a big re-write of all the jQuery code, so much time wasted.
If a sites that old though, I'd be telling the person it's time for a rebuild -
A feature request feature has been requested many times before. I requested it ages ago.

Perhaps we should request a feature to check feature requests for similar existing feature requests? -
Very versatile and tbh I think it brings PHP out of the shadows and makes it a menace to be reckoned with.
Use in conjunction with tech like PHP7, some AWS micro servers and a nice front end like Vue to get the best out of it.
I use it 90% of the time except when I need something small and then I might use lumen, it's younger brother.
Watch the laracasts, Taylor Otwell is amazing. He'll show you how to use it like a pro -
@cmall1234 don't go trollin now
