!rant (Feature idea)

Rant Rooms!

Each room has a topic as it's title, and this room acts like a group chat. Individuals can join public rooms and rant about the specified topic. Or, private rooms can be created and the creator can invite people to this room.

Perhaps timeouts could be set so that after a specified amount of time without activity, the room expires and disappears.

Probably a shit idea but figured I'd mention it 😂

Using internet explorer

Had my first and second stage interviews with a company all in the space of a few days.

Literally the day after the second interview, I got an email back saying I impressed them and they'll get back to me with the details of the next stage of the process soon (whether that's another interview or something else I don't know).

That was 2 weeks ago. Waiting and not knowing is the worst thing ever!!

For a first job, is it better to have a large company backing you, or going to a startup?

I realise being in a startup means more exposure to different technologies, but how would each impact future job prospects?

As a graduate, is it better to start off at small companies so you get better exposure to a wider range of technologies?

As students, imagine if we had to reference StackOverflow every time we used it to solve our problems...

In the middle of a dev ops module in my final college year, and it's caused more frustration than all the other modules combined over my 4 year experience tenure...

I hate when you finish a project, and have no idea what to work on next! I despise feeling so idle!

What would be the best "hot"/upcoming languages for a final year college project?

The project will focus on reverse engineering.

Basic Example: Intercepting signals from products such as a toy helicopters/drones/etc, reverse engineer the signals and try gain control of the device from that.

That's just a very basic function and there will be much more to it, but I'm struggling to decide on a language to pursue hand-in-hand with this project!

I hear Rust, Go, Julia and co being tossed around a lot.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

Looking for some guidance on a final year college research project:

I was going to look into hacking drones/toy helicopters/those Fitbit watch things or whatnot, but I'm not sure if it would go down well! Some technologies I'm looking to explore through this project include reverse engineering, machine learning and container technologies (docker, rkt) if that helps?

Am I along the right lines or should I take a different approach with different topics? If so, an update on what's "hot" or upcoming at the moment would be helpful.
