my desktop is uncluttered, but i can relate if we talk about the number of files in my ~/tmp folder ;)

Taking the job highest paid or mostly respected by society thats available is called "career". but going for the job you want to do is a real "career choice"!
-
an extra ++ for the middle finger emoji :)

@DarkMukke the graph explicitly says "rancher 1.x". I think Kubernetes is an option, but mine is running Docker containers.
-
@Oktokolo CAD would implement that i actually have a plan of what i'm doing :D
-
There's a mistake in your rant, it should be "yet another horrible format" 😈
-
@V-ed you are right, but imho there's no reason why the label of the checkbox should change. with better wording there is no need for that.

once had to implement a template for generated pdfs from a piece of paper. the easiest way to get the measurements right in the least amount of time was:
- zoom out my pdf-viewer until the edge of the pdf had the same length as the sheet of paper
- use a ruler for comparisons of margins etc...
it's not dumb if it works :-P -
@d4ng3r0u5 maybe, but i don't care if it works the way it should :P and maybe this is something good for "old school" projects like debian?
-
I think that's completely wrong. They are made to exist side by side:
"apt is for the terminal and gives beautiful output while apt-getand apt-cache are for scripts and give stable, parseable output."
(https://askubuntu.com/questions/...)
In docker or ansible scripts you still get a warning if you use apt. -
hmpf... i think that is exactly what i was talking about *facepalm*
Thank you for your clarification! *thumbsup* -
I started naming all my devices with names taken from former and current players of VfB Stuttgart :) It's a lot of fun when a new device comes up and you have to think of matching characteristics of those players, for example my printer is called "hitzlsperger" because he is the only player of which i'm sure he knows the whole alphabet :P

PHP has a bad reputation, but that's just some long lasting belief you shouldn't care of.
Older PHP versions had some issues approving these concerns, but modern PHP is a strong language with a lot of possibilities and strong community support.
The biggest problem i see with it is the salary you get compared with developers of other languages. So check what's needed in your area and keep going for those languages. If PHP developers are rare, then go for it and don't be scared. -
Reminds me of this: https://reddit.com/r/pics/... ;)

Would be even more awesome if you were one of the players :D
-
Maybe you could hook up the fire alarm with the monitoring system. Auto commit/push + Slack notification about the emergency :D
-
Try head phones with active noise cancelling. Works almost too good, it scares the heck out of me when coworkers come to my desk without pinging me over slack and i don't even hear them calling my name :D

@kickass
I don't think that will ever happen, she just loves the rubber duck part of the debugging :) -
Yay++

@b3b3
I love the idea! :D -
