When you are on location (football stadium in this case) and you realize that some part of the algorithm isn't working quite right.

We are building a webapp for a little bet-game for our local football team and today was the first live test. I fixed the way the points are calculated in the half-time break.

You can edit code on mobile on gitlab. Doesn't mean you should, but you could. And I did.

    @graic don't worry, just wanted to be sure you are no squid.(:

    @graic wait a sec, you ain't op. What's going on here.

    @sklafg took the photo.
    I do really mean American football, not soccer.
  • 4
    @TobyAsE Oh shit that's what's up.

    I knew there were American football teams in Europe, I just figured nobody actually cared and/or watched it haha

    @TobyAsE dude this question may seem super fucking random.. but did you take part in the whole psp-"movement" back in the days?
    Your name looks familiar.^^
  • 1
    @daintycode I did not. What’s up with that?
  • 2
    @jhh2450 indeed, not many people do care/watch football here in Europe. It was my first time watching (*cough working) today and I had a blast!

    @TobyAsE k.
    We (and others) used to chill a lot in some IRC chat (until 3 am on school days and stuff like that) when psp development was about to be a thing of the past and ofc we never meet in real life.
    Someday the connection (pun unintended) between us all got lost and i've never chatted with anyone of them again.
    And your name felt a bit like the name of one of the dudes, he was blonde, too, used to do java and such, you're german, too, so I was just curious.(:
  • 1
    @daintycode I’m sorry to disappoint you, but that was definitely not me

    @TobyAsE It's really fun to go to games here in America! If I lived closer, I'd go a lot more often.

    There are two or three games in England every year; they usually draw a nice sized crowd. And I have met a German guy who likes the same team as me, so that was pretty cool. But it'll never compare to your football crowds haha
  • 2
    @TobyAsE no worries.

    And to contribute to the discussion, football is way better to watch than soccer.👀
  • 2
    @jhh2450 in America the games are a bit bigger I guess... ;)
    The Kiel Baltic hurricanes are right around the corner and my boss is a sponsor of them so I was sort of dragged in
  • 3
    @daintycode I'll watch college/university football from 12:00 to 0:00 on Saturdays sometimes haha
  • 2
    @daintycode I totally agree. With football there is always something happening

    @TobyAsE Unless it's on TV then it's mostly not people playing American football
  • 0
    @graic Being there is always way more interesting than watching a game on tv I guess
  • 2
    @TobyAsE That applies to soccer with me. I can watch a game in person without a problem. But when it's televised, I'm usually really bored about 20 minutes into the first half.

    Are you saying that in your country you can make a gambling app without subjecting it to any verification to third-party companies and without certifications?
  • 0
    @localghost hahaha just because a law exists doesn't mean they will catch you.
  • 1
    @localghost there is no money involved
  • 1
    Would be even more awesome if you were one of the players :D
