i need this problem
-
@themissingbrace nope but your racism is showing my friend
-
@ViRaS the editor got blamed for no reason, it was a skill issue (skill being backtracking in files manually)
-
@asgs Yes, we do. That's how it works in all teams. That was how it was in this team too but as long as the code worked, PRs kept getting approved.
-
@Root Likewise. Afternoons are the enemy to my productivity
-
@joewilliams007 yeah and on 128gb if 55gb is system, that's close to 50%
I wonder if they do this so people upgrade phones quicker
Apple's storage management is way better - system usually takes 10gb on average
So 64gb, would have about 50gb for use in most cases making it closer to samsung's 70/128gb available storage compared to apple's 100/128gb -
@darkwind I can't work in afternoons either. That part of the day just feels like a drag
-
@LazyLarry About the pretending to delay work. I've had to do that as well. My ex company made everyone log 8 hours a day, else they'd be paid less (horrible approach). So I used to drag out my work to complete the hours. Hurts productivity but if they wanna have stupid rules. 🤷

Are you sure the devs are actual graduates and not first semester students somewhere?
Look into where they graduated from. Also, wasn't there some technical interview at time of hiring? This seems very sus. My experience with Indian devs has been good so far.
I bet if I pulled a first semester student from my alma mater (not in India), they'd be able to solve all of these at first try, so I assume grads from anywhere should be able to as well. -
@donuts that sounds exactly like me. my entire team is in another country, and work-wise I've nothing to do with the local one. haven't even met half of them
-
I seriously relate with you. The people I wanna hang out with are not my colleagues. I can make lunch at my ease instead of early in the morning. My coffee breaks don't involve running into people. My lunch doesn't involve small talk.
And the comfort and cleanliness of my own restroom is unmatched.
I had a colleague once who always left the toilet unflushed and it stunk up the whole restroom. Couldn't use it anymore. -
@Lensflare Yep, this right here. Companies are dumb
-
It's a nuisance downloading app for stores. I simply don't do it. It's bad from user experience pov. I think companies are just dumb
-
The other day a colleague saw a small non-breaking issue on Jenkins. While fixing it, he added a bigger breaking issue to all our nodes. We were fucked for two days.
-
@electrineer Most of the applications cannot be moved to SD card. I have 256gb storage (phone). 66gb is used currently out of which 55.18gb is system.
The issue isn't that I do not have space. The issue is that the system could have been way more space efficient. -
Android is a mess when it comes to this. They should not sell phones are 32gb if half of it is eaten up by OS
-
@C0D4 @Itlian @Hazarth
Thank you all three of you - all three of you are right and I'm taking up the suggestions
Taking break. changing environment, and hopefully getting to pick up different tickets
I hope something works. Appreciate the help -
@aviophile You're right, man. Ended up getting help, got an action plan hope it works.
-
@dmonkey i totally agree - thoroughly enjoyed the comments
-
@Demolishun nah, both of them offered, I turned down, and reached out again up-ing their offers
-
@C0D4 seems forever ago
-
@PonySlaystation It's called Upload. It isn't a great show but it basically resolves around being uploaded to cloud after death and you then live on cloud 😂
-
@ScribeOfGoD @Ikaroz @Linux they started rolling in else i too thought i'm close to getting fired
-
@PonySlaystation you've seen that amazon show?
-
You should totally charge them full price for the site now.
-
@aviophile Yes I quite agree - I was waking up Saturday, Sunday morning with the issue in my mind
Monday morning I only had implementation to do -
@sariel I agree - I was too phased out on Friday
-
@darkwind jenkins is not my choice, it's my company's so I am stuck with it indefinitely
-
@cygnus I read books, just never programming language books - it seems futile
-
If you're serious, your university is straight up a shame. At mine we knew and had used Linux in our first semester. We were specifically introduced to it.
