Noted : Avoid IBM like the plague
-
Just use good descriptive variable and method names and write clean code, then you should only need comments to explain deviations or strange code
-
@badcopnodonuts Nope, as far as they concerned, this is a great success! They have facilitated the creation of an innovative solution by driving collaboration and pushing boundaries in an agile environment... (- _ -)

Rather them than end users
-
@Coffe2Code I'm using google translate :)
I was referencing a Monty Python skit about bad translations. -

@rendezvous Business Analyst
In our company, the B.A. has a higher rank than developers :( -
Yea, I had this when I made a report builder :)

@irene I wish I could spray them with water and sternly say "Bad" when they ask me to make anything without a spec or card, but for now I give them sweeties when they follow processes...

@Vake93 & @tokumei
Yea, I was formatting to my local currency, and that works perfectly for the most part.
My problem was that the resulting formatted string was using a special charter for spacing instead of a normal space. This caused issues when I output the data in a PDF. I'm just trying to understand why they would use a special character. -
This is how I fixed it;
string cleanedText = new string(formatedMoney.Select(c => (char.IsSeparator(c) || char.IsWhiteSpace(c)) ? ' ' : c).ToArray()); -
I would pay for this!

Thanks for all the feedback and ideas

I recently discovered the "electro swing" genre, it goes well with programming.

This was how we used to make 1px borders using tables before CSS fixed a lot of those issues.

OMG, I want all the silicon valley CEO's to read this!
Wish I could give 10++'s -
Funny, it gives me grey hair...

Side note : Margaret Hamilton received the NASA Space Act Award for her reliable software design that recognized the system was overloading, notified the astronauts, and eliminated lower priority tasks then re-established the more important ones i.e., the ones needed for landing on the moon.
She also coined the phrase "software engineering", as a way of giving the new discipline legitimacy -
@http418 that's 1969 version of Git :)

@MPKaboose I disagree, I've asked for a raise multiple times with good results. Just don't do it the wrong way. There are plenty of resources online that will help you do this without causing offence. Remember, a business is about making profit, so they will pay their staff as little as possible... If you want a bigger piece of the pie, you gota ask for it.

I left godady last month, over priced and their interface was riddled with dark practice UI, so fuck them

Don't you have Two Factor Authentication?
I live in South Africa, and even we have that.
If I purchase anything online I get an SMS with a "One Time Password" that I have to enter into the browser to complete the transaction. -
"Yes I worked with VB a few years ago".
I regret saying that so much.
NEVER admit to knowing any language that you want to avoid.
I now get to maintain a legacy VB that brings in enough money to be worth updating, but not enough to be worth re-writing.
Thank-fuck it's only a couple of hours a month. -
A checksum would check as much sum as a checksum could check if a checksum could check sum.
